As if we don’t have enough reasons to jet over to Japan, PokéPark Kanto just opened in February of 2026 in Tokyo’s Yomiuriland, and boy has it been a hit with fans all over the world. Themed after the very first region introduced in the games, Kanto, you’ll be able to spot figures of Pokémon scattered all over the park in their natural habitat.

In the Pokémon Forest, keep an eye out for Pikachu hiding in the foliage, Diglett popping out of the ground, and Fearow perched amongst the canopies. Over at Sedge Town, you’ll be able to pick up exclusive merch like plushies of Pikachu and Eevee in special costumes, as well as headbands and caps featuring Psyduck, Mr. Mime and Vulpix for an immersive experience.

Don’t miss out on the Pika Pika Sparks! Performance and the seasonal parades where you can meet mascots as they twirl and hop about in town. For more mascot appearances, the Pokémon Playhouse is where you’d wanna be; fan-favourites such as Gengar, Dragonite, and Slowpoke will be welcoming visitors with open arms.

We know Japan is always ahead of its time when it comes to bringing the wonder of Studio Ghibli and anime to life in incredible theme parks. Take Ghibli Park, for example. There are 5 areas you can visit, each themed after iconic films like Castle in the Sky, Princess Mononoke, and Spirited Away.

Swing by the double-storey Ghibli’s Grand Warehouse, and you’ll feel as if you’re really walking through the strange village of Spirited Away, much as Chihiro did. Fan-favourites can also be found at the Dondoko Forest, where characters from My Neighbor Totoro and Satsuki and Mei’s House reside.

The Valley of Witches zone is the park’s latest addition, having opened in early 2024. Like its name implies, it’s inspired by witch-related Ghibli flicks like Kiki’s Delivery Service, Howl’s Moving Castle, and Earwig and the Witch.

You’ll get to explore installations such as Kiki’s childhood home and the bakery she eventually lives in. You also can’t miss the impressive replica of Howl’s Moving Castle; it stands 20m tall, and from time to time, even sputters smoke while stretching its mechanical limbs.
If you’ve already visited all the Studio Ghibli-like places in Singapore and Studio Ghibli and anime-inspired places in Japan, it’s time to check this one out.
3. Minion Land – Sentosa, Singapore
Visit Gru’s house & laboratory in a 3D ride

Get ready to go bananas at Minion Land. Universal Studios Singapore’s yellowest and most mischievous zone has been welcoming visitors since Valentine’s Day 2025, and replaced the park’s beloved Madagascar-themed zone. Now, we get to say bello to the land overflowing with googly eyes, gibberish, and side-splitting shenanigans.

Brace yourself for Despicable Me Minion Mayhem, a 3D ride that’ll whisk you away on a chaotic adventure alongside Gru and the girls and put you in the POV of a Minion. Minion Land is also making history as the first theme park attraction to use sustainable energy in Singapore.

The little ones can run riot at Super Silly Fun Land too, which is modelled after the fictional amusement park from the animated film. Hop on the Buggie Boogie, a Minion dance party-themed carousel, or board adorable bug-like cabins to get whisked into the sky at Silly Swirly
You’ll also want to make a pit stop at the Minion Marketplace. The 3 stores you can find here are filled to the brim with Minion-themed merch to bring home. Some to consider splurging on include Agnes’ Fluffy Unicorn plushie to snuggle in bed, themed headbands to complete your theme park fit, and Minion blind boxes for an extra dose of surprise.
4. Fantasy Springs in DisneySea – Tokyo, Japan
Immerse yourself in 3 Disney worlds

Step into a world of enchantment and imagination at Tokyo DisneySea as you explore the new additions of the magical realm within Fantasy Springs. Forget choosing just 1 new adventure – this land packs in 3 whole worlds: Frozen’s frosty wonderland, Rapunzel’s sun-kissed forest, and Peter Pan’s Neverland where dreams take flight.
Rapunzel fans can look forward to a 5-minute-long boat ride called Rapunzel’s Lantern Festival that takes you past the dreamy scene from the movie – the lantern festival that stole our hearts. And then, spot Arendelle Castle in all its icy glory on a 6-minute water boat ride called Frozen Kingdom with Anna and Elsa in Frozen Journey.
The Peter Pan’s Never Land is nothing short of a fun land, too. It has a 3D ride where you go through a 6-minute journey with Peter Pan, the pirates and Lost Kids. And for Tinkerbell stans, there’s a themed ride that’ll have you sprinkling pixie dust and buzzing with excitement.
5. LEGOLAND Shanghai Resort – Shanghai, China
The first LEGOLAND theme park in China

The name LEGOLAND doesn’t need any introduction, but it’s worth mentioning that it has made its mark in China. You read that right – as of 5th July 2025, the country has its very own LEGOLAND, in the form of LEGOLAND Shanghai Resort.
To date, it’s the biggest one in the world. It measures in at a whopping 318,000 sqm, eclipsing Denmark’s LEGOLAND Billund Resort. It has 8 themed areas to explore, and you might need to stay the night here as it has over 75 rides, shows and attractions to fill out your visit with.

In particular, the park’s LEGO Monkie Kid zone’s the first of its kind, and is themed after the Chinese classic, Journey to the West. Over at LEGO City, children can role-play as adults by trying their hand at various “grown-up” activities. These include stepping behind the wheel at a Driving School, and putting out fires at the Fire Academy.

As for daring children who want a jolt of adrenaline, the LEGO Castle is the place to be. Take on The Dragon, a roller coaster that winds through a medieval LEGO castle with sharp turns and speeds up outdoors. Should that prove to be too daunting for younger kids, there’s a smaller version of the roller coaster that still promises its fair share of thrills.
Get tickets to LEGOLAND Shanghai Resort.
6. KidZania, Sentosa, Singapore
Kid-centric theme park, role-play taking up various real-world jobs

You don’t even have to leave the country for the little ones to have a whale of a time, those with tots in tow can pay a visit to the revamped KidZania in Sentosa. The facility shuttered back in 2020 due to the pandemic but welcomed families once again in 2024.

In case you’ve not had the chance to visit just yet, KidZania is an indoor theme park modelled after a replica city where children can try their hand at real-world occupations through role-play. There are over 60 activities for curious minds to have a go at, which include landing a plane via a flight simulator, fixing leaking faucets as a handyman, and even designing their own video games.

For maximum immersion, the children will also be awarded faux currency called Kidzos for each activity completed. They’ll be able to spend their hard-earned money at Kidzania Department Store to walk home with toys and stationery to cap off a day of honest work.
7. Donkey Kong Country, Osaka, Japan
Jungle-themed area in USJ with a minecart ride through an ancient temple

It goes without saying that Japan is one of the top holiday destinations amongst Singaporeans, so you’ll want to swing by the new Donkey Kong Country on your next visit to Super Nintendo World in Universal Studios Japan.

It’s a Jungle-inspired area that’s themed after one of Nintendo’s most iconic characters, Donkey Kong. Inside, you’ll get to snap pics beside DK himself at various photo spots, chow down on banana-flavoured snacks at the Jungle Beats Shakes cafe, and mess around with bongo drums to awaken an animatronic rhino.
You’ll definitely want to hop on the Mine Cart Madness ride; it’s a roller coaster that’s inspired by one of the levels from the games, as it takes adrenaline junkies through a perilous ancient temple. Before you go, don’t forget to snag some merch from the Funky’s Fly n’ Buy gift shop, which includes keychains, pouches, and hats featuring the whole Donkey Kong cast.
8. JOYPOLIS SPORTS Hong Kong, Hong Kong
Ninja dojo, Sonic-themed activities & AR games
Joining the ranks of must-visit attractions in Hong Kong such as Hong Kong Disneyland and Ocean Park Hong Kong is JOYPOLIS SPORTS Hong Kong. This 5-storey indoor playground opened in December 2024 and is decked out with 3 distinct themed zones, each with its own set of activities that will have you scampering all over the premises.

You’ll find the Ninja Dojo on the ground floor, where all sorts of ninja-inspired games and challenges await. Put your nimble feet to the test at the Ninja Mission: Break In obstacle course, or see if your reflexes are quick enough to conquer the Ninja Blade Master minigame. Of course, you’ll get to try your hand at throwing ninja stars too at the Ninja Trainer dart boards.

The SONIC Stadium is located on Level 2, where visitors can participate in various Sonic-themed sporting events. Challenge your friends to find out who’ll emerge victorious in the SONIC Athletics as you battle it out on a virtual track powered by treadmills.

There’s also the SONIC Stadium Kidz playground for the children to run riot in. This vibrant play area features a ball pit, climbing frames, slides, and an interactive projection wall, so expect them to spend hours exploring every corner of the playground.

Last but not least, Level 3 plays host to the Future Arena. Try your hand at AR games that involve your whole body for inputs, or take part in a round of Red Light Green Light that uses motion trackers to detect movements, much like the one in Squid Game, albeit with much lower stakes.
9. Junglia, Okinawa, Japan
Theme park in Okinawa built near a beautiful national park

When one thinks of Japan, Okinawa’s definitely not the first prefecture that pops to mind, but there’s now a bonus reason to visit this tropical paradise. That’s because the Junglia amusement park started welcoming visitors in mid-2025, and it brings dino-fueled action and a nature-infused retreat to soak in the natural beauty of the island.
The amusement park is built in close proximity to the stunning Yambaru National Park, giving visitors an immersive experience as they step into this seemingly untamed jungle. One of the park’s signature attractions is the Dinosaur Safari; you’ll get into an off-roader to escape an animatronic T-Rex which actually chases you around, baring its seemingly razor-sharp teeth.
Another heart-pumping ride is the Sky Phoenix. This one will have you strapping belly-first into a harness to zipline across the treetops. If Junior is afraid of heights, the Finding Dinosaurs tour tasks them with navigating through obstacles like wobbly bridges and a dark cave to rescue a lost baby dinosaur.

For some much-needed R&R after trekking through the whole park, Junglia has an on-site spa too, Spa Junglia. Here, you can soak in an infinity pool overlooking the nearby national park, sweat out toxins at a sauna, and enjoy a sumptuous meal at the Tropical Oasis restaurant.

10. Paramount Pictures Theme Park Bali, Bali, Indonesia
Rides, attractions & hotels in the biggest theme park in SEA

The theme park will also be home to 2 hotels to recharge at, the Paramount Grand Resort and Nickelodeon Resort.
Indonesia is set to receive its first international theme park, and boy are they pulling no stops. Paramount Pictures Theme Park Bali is slated to be up and running later this year in the Jembrana Regency in southwest Bali, and is projected to be the largest of its kind in South East Asia.

There is no news on what rides will be featured in this gargantuan theme park, but we predict that the film production company will base the park’s key attractions on its famous IPs. Expect rides that recreate scenes from recognisable franchises such as Mission: Impossible and Transformers, Star Trek, or Top Gun.
Paramount Pictures also owns the rights to Nickelodeon, so we can confidently say that it’ll be a kid-friendly destination in case the little ones want to tag along too. What is pretty much confirmed is that the park will launch with a zone called the Land of Legends that’s themed after Indonesia’s folklore, so you won’t have to stray too far for a taste of the local culture and traditions.
11. LEGOLAND Shenzhen Resort, Shenzhen, China
Set to be the biggest LEGOLAND in the world
Remember what we said about LEGOLAND Shanghai Resort being the biggest LEGOLAND in the world? Well, time is ticking before it loses that title, because the upcoming LEGOLAND Shenzhen Resort will blow it right out of the park. It’s projected to span approximately 580,000sqm, almost double that of the Shanghai resort.
And that makes sense, because they’re cramming a theme park, waterpark, 3 LEGO-themed hotels, and retail and dining facilities within the grounds. Details aren’t completely fleshed out yet, as the park is set to officially open sometime in 2027, but it’s been reported to play host to over 100 rides and attractions across 9 themed zones.
There’ll also be a Miniland here, where famous Chinese landmarks will be reinterpreted in the form of millions of LEGO bricks. The park will also sport a huge theatre that comfortably seats over 1,000 guests, so expect to tune in to some LEGO-fueled theatrics here too.
