Songbirds on the hunt for a super affordable deal will want to sign up for a membership at Sing V KTV asap.
At just RM39 (~S$12.37) for a 1-year membership, you will be entitled to karaoke sessions as cheap as RM0.50 (~S$0.16) for 3 hours during off-peak hours on weekdays – meaning just around $0.05 per hour. With rates this low, it’ll be possible to sing through Jay Chou’s entire discography for nearly nothing.

Meanwhile, non-members will have to pay RM12 (~$3.80) per hour for the same time period. It’s still a worthy bargain for crooners who like to sing lengthy ballads.

2. Loud Speaker KTV – Game console rentals at RM30 for 2 hours

If you’re craving a karaoke night out but your partner is not as enthused, a drive over to Loud Speaker KTV could help avoid any arguments. If you find yourself craving something to munch on mid-session, Loud Speaker KTV serves a variety of snacks like chicken wings (RM14.90, ~S$4.73) and curry fishballs (RM9.90, ~S$3.14). As if normal KTV studios weren’t enough enjoyment for the entire family already, Chun K Music Family Karaoke has a KTV system that seems like it has time travelled from the future. Introducing Xiao Hai, an AI assistant that will help make your karaoke session as seamless as possible.
Much like calling out for “Siri” or “Alexa”, your wish is Xiao Hai’s command. You can instruct Xiao Hai to queue a song or make adjustments to the room’s light and music volume, all from the comfort of the sofa.

Karaoke regulars would agree that working out the diaphragm is a major calorie burning activity. And to replenish all that depleted energy quickly, you’ll want something carb heavy, like Japanese food perhaps.
That’s what you’ll at least be able to fill your tummies with at Superstar Family KTV. Get yourself an energy boost while you sing with their 400 Japanese dishes available. On the menu are smaller bites like sushi to share (from RM19.90, ~S$6.33). You can get more filling meals too, like bentos and ramen (from RM18.90, ~S$6.01).

5. The Rhythm – Hotpot options while singing

Two things Singaporeans can’t get enough of: karaoke and hotpot. Now put them together and you get an ultimate combo only available at The Rhythm. The best of both worlds is available for sessions of a minimum of 3 hours, and with a required spending of RM98 (~S$31.12) for the table.

While you wait for your songs to be queued, tuck into must-have ingredients like slices of pork (RM16.90, ~S$5.36), cheese tofu (RM4.90, ~S$1.55) and fish balls (RM5.90, S$1.87). These go into popular soup bases like tomyam and mala available from RM32 (~S$10.20).

You’ll barely need to step out of Singapore to visit Music Band Family KTV. In fact, it’d probably be quicker for Northies to reach this KTV than to head down to karaoke joints in town as it’s just a 10-minute drive from Woodlands Checkpoint.

Proximity aside, Music Band also has a range of rooms catering to various group sizes, the smallest accommodating a cosy 2 pax. But if the whole gang is coming down, get the VVIP room, which will fit a whole party of 15. Rates are RM28/person (~S$8.92) for 3 hours, inclusive of a free drink to quench parched throats.
