Cheap karaoke in East Singapore

We’ve covered KTV spots in the North, West and Central regions of Singapore. Now it’s time to give the Easties a list of places to sing their hearts out in between cycling at East Coast Park, hanging out at Jewel Changi, and everything else that makes “East side, best side” an oft-heard proclamation.
From familiar and reliable karaoke chains conveniently located in malls and CCs, to a hidden KTV-cafe hybrid where you can munch on waffles and donburi, here are 7 affordable karaoke spots in the East.
1. Cash Studio – from $2.60/pax per hour

Don’t be fooled by the neon signs and slightly dodgy facade. Not only is Cash Studio free of any illicit monkey business, it’s actually a choice KTV destination for those who love to put on a show. The bigger rooms in particular are fitted with mic stands for guests to really channel their inner Adele or JJ Lin, while strobe lights of different colours and effects transform the room into a private disco.

Prices at each of the eastside outlets, namely Paya Lebar, Simpang Bedok and Djitsun Mall @ Bedok, also get significantly lower for bigger groups. For instance, a 3-hour session on Friday and Saturday evenings past 6PM usually costs $23/pax, but drops to $14.95/pax from the 4th person onwards.

2. 7th Heaven KTV & Cafe – from $5/pax per hour

We’re all familiar with the token bowls of snacks or bags of chips available at most KTV joints, which ironically contribute towards a sore throat during an activity where healthy vocal cords are vital. Located at SAFRA Tampines, the KTV rates at 7th Heaven are calculated either per pax, or per room with a minimum spend. The latter is suitable for patrons who plan to eat, drink and be merry, ‘cause you essentially get a 3-hour private room for free by racking up a certain amount at the cafe.

3. 8 Degree KTV Lounge – from $15/hour

The Civil Service Club @ Changi is home to 8 Degree KTV Lounge, a swanky karaoke spot for some quality chalet entertainment. You don’t have to be a chalet resident to enjoy karaoke here though, and the facility is even decked out with a row of electronic dart machines as well as a pool table.

Normal rooms fit 6 to 8 pax comfortably, and cost $15/hour for a minimum booking of 2 hours. For large gatherings of up to 25 pax, opt for the $30/hour VIP room. Students can flash their matriculation card between the hours of 3PM-6PM daily to get a special promo of $10/pax with free-flow soft drinks, as long as at least 3 pax are present.

4. Ten Dollar KTV Club – $10/pax regardless of time and day

As you can tell from the name, Ten Dollar KTV Club charges $10 per pax all day, every day, regardless of whether it’s peak hour, weekends or public holidays. They also charge by fixed session timings instead of by the hour, so if you show up early you can get the most value out of your 10 bucks.
The only catch is that you need a minimum of 3 pax for daily sessions lasting 2PM-7PM, and at least 4 pax for sessions 7PM-12AM on Sunday to Thursday nights or 7PM-10PM/10PM-1AM on Fridays, Saturdays and public holiday eves.

This affordable rate even includes free-flow beverages like soft drinks and hot tea. If you’re hankering for a beer, there’s a Downtown East exclusive promo where 3 jugs are going for $50 nett.

5. Kloud Karaoke – from $4/pax per hour

Complete your shopping, dining and ATV-riding day out at KINEX Mall with a KTV sesh at Kloud Karaoke. There’s no GST or service charge, and prices begin from a mere $4/pax per hour for a 3-hour package before 6PM, inclusive of one complimentary drink for each guest.

The best part is, rates dip to $8/pax on weekdays and $10/pax on weekends for the 3rd person onwards (4th person onwards for sessions after 6PM), making it just $2.70/$3.30 per pax per hour! The more karaoke kakis you gather, the lesser you all will have to pay after splitting the bill.

6. Teo Heng – from $5/room per hour

Who remembers that nostalgia-inducing “Kara? 要 OK!” TV commercial sung by Teo Heng’s adorable penguin mascot? In the blink of an eye, the family-friendly chain has opened up numerous outlets around the island, with a whopping 6 different branches in the East alone.

The rates are pretty much the same across the outlets – except Katong Shopping Centre and E! Avenue Downtown East have a cosy Mini-K Studio for 2 pax at $5 per hour before 7PM and $8 per hour from 7PM onwards. Meanwhile, Our Tampines Hub is the only eastside branch with a Live KTV Room that’s big enough for 20 pax, with hourly rates starting from $35 for a true concert experience.

Manekineko has an abundance of outlets in town, and is hugely popular for their free-flow tidbits and next-level drink bar which includes slushies, juices, Milo and even matcha soy latte. Their song selection systems are also frequently updated with the latest English, Mandopop, K-Pop and J-Pop chart toppers.

The one and only eastside branch can be found at Tampines One, where nett prices start at $10/pax for a 2-hour session on weekdays before 6PM. All 3-hour sessions come with unlimited snacks and beverages but if you’re strapped for time, you can top up $3/pax to get refreshments for a 2-hour booking.
Prices get progressively lower from the 4th person onwards, with every 6th pax and above paying as low as $5 for 2 hours!
