Things to do in September 2022

Congratulations! You’ve officially made it through 3 quarters of the year. Just 4 more months till we’ll be Auld Lang Syne-ing off from 2022.

If that sounds a little too close for comfort to you, then take your time to slowly savour these 14 new things to do in September – from an ASMR experience to mini-golfing by the bay.

1. Celebrate Mid-Autumn festival at Gardens By The Bay

Once upon a time, a lady ascended to the moon. Now, we eat mooncakes and light lanterns when September rolls around.

The Mid-Autumn festival is a treat for the tummy and the eyes, and Gardens By the Bay promises to deliver on both from now till 11th September. First, grab some grub from their outdoor marketplace, then plop down by the Supertree Grove to enjoy a slew of free cultural performances as you munch on local street food.

You can also anticipate the rousing rhythms of Chinese percussion ensemble, Drum Feng, and sonorous melodies from the Tok Tok Chiang Chinese opera troupe. Traditional repertoire aside, there will also be entertainment like K-pop dance covers, Mandarin pop songs, and LED twirlers every evening.

Afterwards, take some time to soak in the glow of the multi-colored lantern installations around you. For instance, catch the Flight to the Phoenix display at the Golden Garden or pose under a stream of handmade paper lanterns at the Colonnade of Lights.
