We’re halfway through the year. This is the month where students all around Singapore heave a sigh of relief – the first big break of the year is finally here, and you can nua in bed all you want without anyone disturbing you.
June promises to be an exciting time for all with a whole lineup of events, whether you’re having a month of holiday or are part of the busy working crowd.
1. Experience out-of-this-world installations at SAM Imaginarium
Take a trip to Singapore Art Museum for the eighth edition of Imaginarium, back with more eye popping and interactive installations. Find yourself captured in a magical jar, or even walk through cosmic grass – it’ll be fun for everyone in the family, whether young or young at heart.

2. Join a flamingo float race at Adventure Cove Waterpark’s Splash Bash

Beat the heat with Sentosa’s inaugural Splash Bash – think of it as a gigantic pool party. There will be different challenges at various stations situated around Adventure Cove, and you can stand to win prizes like a smartphone, smartwatch and an action camera! There’ll even be a DJ spinning some tracks and thirst-quenching drinks in flamingo floats so you’re assured of a splashin’ good time.

3. Visit Singapore’s many Ramadan Bazaars

The crowd at the Geylang Serai Bazaar can get pretty crazy and can be quite a turn off to some. But if you’ve got a case of FOMO and want in on the delicious grub, here’s a list of alternative Ramadan Bazaars you can visit for similar food items, sans the crowd.
4. Feed your Infinity War withdrawal symptoms at a Marvel Exhibition

Infinity War has been out for some time now, but daily conversations and memes on the internet are still dotted with references to Thanos. For those of you who simply can’t get enough of Marvel, here’s a treat for you. Marvel Studios: Ten Years of Heroes brings 19 Marvel movies from the past decade together, showing you the art and behind the scenes of the films. Wakanda forever.

5. Relax at a staycay with late checkout timings

After a whole night of partying, you’d probably need somewhere to crash ASAP, not to be woken till 12 hours later. You’ll be glad to know that there are hotels with checkout timings as late as 4PM for you to get your uninterrupted rest.
6. Attend free book readings by local authors at BooksActually

Who says grown-ups can’t attend storytelling sessions too? Get comfy in BooksActually, one of Singapore’s indie bookstores where there will be readings and book launches all night from the likes of Alfian Sa’at, Cyril Wong and more. This event aims to raise funds to help BooksActually find a forever home instead of having to worry about rentals.

7. Follow us on an Instawalk to Botanic Gardens

8. Party non-stop at Ultra Music Festival

9. Have a movie-and-beer night at Hood Bar

If you’re one of those always belting out Mandarin pop hits during karaoke sessions, you’ll enjoy Sing.Lang, a Mandopop concert featuring local artistes. The lineup includes Joanna Dong, who recently made headlines for making it to Sing! China’s finals, and Benjamin Kheng from The Sam Willows.

12. Enjoy a nature trail with the 5KM Sentosa Fun Walk

A Sentosa Fun Walk is happening in partnership with National Geographic, so you can expect a 5KM of scenic nature trails and magnificent sunset views. After that, chill out by the beach at Palawan Green and enjoy the movie Kallang Roar under the stars, and munch on BBQ delights you can get from $15.

13. Gobble up $2 hawker delights at the Tiger Street Food Festival

Throwback to the good ol’ days where you could get a packet of chicken rice for just $2 at Tiger Street Food Festival. Savour dishes from 15 hawker stalls such as Famous Eunos Bak Chor Mee and Tasty Street, who whips up lip-smacking Wagyu Beef and Iberico Lor Ba rice bowls. The best part? You can get each dish with just one of the purple notes in your wallet, and beer will be sold from $3-$6.

14. Check out art installations at Flipside Festival

The Esplanade isn’t just good for posh concerts – Flipside Festival shows that it can be family-friendly too. This arts festival turns the Esplanade into an educational playground for adults and kids alike, with over 200 activities including giant LED puppets and a never seen before musical instrument.
