For those in the know, The Glasshouse should be a name that rings familiar. After all, it’s one of the OG glass house-themed cafes in Singapore. Strategically located in CHIJMES, it’s a 2-minute drive from SMU and the CBD area, perfect for both workday brunches and coffee meet-ups.

With mostly wooden furniture and white walls, its minimalistic interior is generously sprinkled with greenery throughout, making you feel at ease. The vibes aren’t the only thing immaculate here though – so is the food.

If you’re planning to come here for brunch, have a taste of their signature Breakfast Bagel (from $18) or Avocado Nut Parfait (from $20).

At Hortus, you not only get to stroll around Gardens By The Bay (GBTB), but you also get to dine in it. To top it off, all reservations at Hortus are inclusive of access to the Flower Dome greenhouse, which usually costs $12/adult for Singapore residents.

Food-wise, Hortus has an extensive Mediterranean menu. Relish in their Afternoon Tea set (from $58/pax) on the weekends and expect savoury delights such as Madras curry crab and Comté cheese quiche. Of course, as part of the set, there’ll also be desserts like blueberry and vanilla frangipane tarts.

For something more filling, their lamb tagine cooked in sweet spices, prunes & apricots (from $34) and spaghetti, mud crab, garlic, chili, white wine (from $34) makes for a scrumptious meal.
