Starbucks at Bird Paradise

By now, you would’ve probably heard all the talk about the new Bird Paradise in Mandai. And if you thought things couldn’t get any more interesting, they’ve just unveiled a super chio Starbucks right at the entrance. Trust us, even if you’re not a bird person, it’s worth making a trip down for – and is one of the most unique Starbucks outlets in Singapore

Whether you’re planning to grab a cup of joe before starting your day at Bird Paradise or simply enjoy exploring different cafes, you’ll want to add Starbucks at Bird Paradise to your list.

Glasshouse vibes with floor-to-ceiling windows

First things first, you don’t need to purchase tickets to check out the new Starbucks at Bird Paradise. It’s located at Mandai Wildlife West, a public area with playgrounds and various dining establishments.

Stepping in, you’ll see why it’s worth making a trip down. Unlike most outlets that are located in shopping centres, Starbucks at Bird Paradise is light-filled and airy. The floor-to-ceiling glass windows make you feel like you’re outdoors, enveloping you in a tranquil and serene atmosphere.

The wooden structure reminds us of Japanese ryokans, with earthy green and brown tones that blend in with the natural surroundings. Imagine sipping your favourite drink amidst a lush forest. Ahh, how enchanting. Not to mention, it’s also built out of reclaimed wood – how cool is that?

Besides using recycled wood, the store has also implemented sustainable practices across its entire operation, including sourcing energy-efficient equipment and utilising sustainable packaging options to reduce its environmental impact.

Hand-painted murals by local artists

It’s not all earth tones, though. The new Starbucks at Bird Paradise also features the colourful works of local artists from Rippleroot – a duo known for creating pieces inspired by nature and wildlife. Throughout the cafe are wall paintings that feature vibrant illustrations of birds, flowers, and the sea – inspired by the rich nature and wildlife in Mandai.

A particularly eye-catching artwork is the mural at the entrance, which depicts the Starbucks mythical creature engaging with the natural offerings in the area, further emphasising the cafe’s connection to its surroundings.

Keep a look out for tiny details in the store – such as a sign at the entrance with the year 1971 etched into it. Fun fact: it was the year when both the previous Singapore Bird Park and the Starbucks outlet located there were opened to the public here.

Plus, you can also snag a free reusable cup if you’re one of the first 2,000 customers to spend at least $20 at the new outlet. Otherwise, bring your own tumbler or cup to get a $0.50 discount on your drinks as an incentive to reduce the usage of disposable cups.
