With the Lion City beginning to awaken from its brief “winter” slumber, it’s the perfect time to head out and explore. 1. Visit the Friends Cafe before they close for good

We wished they were on a break, but it seems like it’s for real. Central Perk Singapore – also known as Central Mall Coffee House – was designed to resemble the iconic cafe from the TV series, Friends. The coffee house will sadly be closing their doors by the end of the month.

If you’re a fan of the sitcom, this could be your last chance to enjoy a cuppa while sitting on the orange sofa, or engage in 1 last match with your pals on Joey and Chandler’s foosball table.

2. Gather with some feline friends at the Singapore Cat Festival

After the event’s 3-year hiatus, cat enthusiasts can once again come together at the Singapore Cat Festival. It’ll feature a variety of cat-related merchandise for feline owners to purchase, as well as educational workshops and activities.

Participate in a free workshop to create cat toys or register for an art jamming workshop ($50/pax). If you’re looking for a new fur baby, the festival will also feature an adoption drive where you can find kittens yearning for forever homes.

There will be 250 goodie bags up for grabs daily at the event. All you need to do is RSVP your attendance and follow both the Singapore Cat Festival and Neko Neko Cat Store accounts on Instagram.

3. Enjoy specially flown-in snacks & food at the Mini Japan Fair

You don’t have to travel to Japan to indulge in authentic Japanese snacks and cuisine this March. A Mini Japan Fair will be held at the Crane Living retail outpost in OCBC Bank’s Wisma Atria branch. Browse through a variety of treats specially flown-in from the Nagasaki prefecture and other rural areas of Japan, available for purchase.

Orange Mocha Cafe, which is also located within the bank, will be offering a limited-time menu of Japanese inspired drinks and desserts from 1st-2nd April 2023 as well.

4. Learn flow arts, a dance with LED lights, for free at SMU

Join Singapore’s flow arts community for a Starlight Flow Jam event led by Starlight Alchemy – a performing arts group that focuses on next-level performance styles such as Fire Theatre, Illuminated Dance, and Aerial Acrobatics. 

The Lawn beside SMU will be filled with music and light, as fellow flow artists gather to exchange knowledge and share their skills. Individuals who are new to this art form and find themselves intrigued can also take this rare chance to fully immerse in the spectacle and learn more about it.

If you’re interested in giving this art form a try, Starlight Alchemy will be holding workshops at $30/pax. Master the art of poi, which involves swinging a pair of weights on cords, or try your hand at diabolo, where you’ll learn to spin and toss a double-coned bobbin. If you prefer to start off with something more simple, you can learn dance and movement using hoops.

5. Revamp your wardrobe from $2 at The Hammock Market

Go on a little treasure hunt at The Hammock Market, where you will find stylish apparel from as low as $2. From cargo pants to oversized graphic tees, the unique and vintage finds at Aperia Mall will attract budget-conscious shoppers and fashionistas alike.

The flea market held on alternate Saturdays also has booths featuring local artists and creators, and offers monthly complimentary activities such as free Jagua tattoos. In addition, you can claim a free tote bag worth $19.90 with any purchase from the booths, while stocks last.

6. Break fast at Geylang Serai Ramadan Bazaar

Get into the festive spirit of Ramadan and Hari Raya at the Geylang Serai Ramadan Bazaar. This year, it’ll run for 36 days, 5 days longer than previous years’. There are 2 distinct sections – Souq City and Street Bazaar – filled with a range of F&B and retail stalls, as well as interactive art installations respectively.

Each F&B stall will offer a sample size item on the menu at $4, making it an affordable feast for those who want to try everything. Additionally, there are community shelves available for donations of non-perishable Halal food and apparel for Hari Raya to celebrate the spirit of giving.

7. Immerse yourself in dreamy projections of Van Gogh’s works

Step into the world of swirling starry skies, vibrant sunflowers, and breathtaking landscapes that come to life right before your eyes. Van Gogh: The Immersive Experience is making its debut in Singapore for 7 months after successful runs across Europe, the US, and the Middle East, leaving art lovers starstruck.

This 360-degree digital exhibition on Sentosa Island will feature over 300 painting replicas including those of sibei famous ones such as Starry Night and Sunflowers, projected across the walls. You’ll even be able to experience a 10-minute VR tour of Van Gogh’s 8 most iconic pieces for an extra fee. Who knows? Maybe you’ll be inspired to create your own masterpiece after stepping into this visionary’s world.

8. Savour a limited-time Van Gogh-inspired afternoon tea set

Art doesn’t have to be confined to a canvas – in fact, it can be found in unexpected places, such as in desserts. Coinciding with the launch of Van Gogh: The Immersive Experience is the Fairmont’s Van Gogh-inspired afternoon tea inspired by the masterpiece, Sunflowers.

From the design to the ingredients used, each element of the delicate treats has been carefully crafted to reflect the theme. You’ll find sunflower seeds, blue pea poppers, blackcurrant pate, and delicate paintings of sunflowers adorning the sweet treats.

9. Check out the newest mall in town, Sengkang Grand Mall

Northeasties have a new site to hang out at – Sengkang Grand Mall, a new 3-storey shopping mall conveniently located beside Buangkok MRT. You can expect a diverse range of stores and services with food, shopping, and even educational classes here.

Over 90 brands are said to be making their home here, but currently not all stores are operational just yet.

10. Pop by Changi Airport for a Rilakkuma event & new rock wall

The recently opened family-friendly facility houses an 8m-high wall with a diverse range of rock climbing routes suitable for beginners and intermediate climbers.

For those who may not be up for an elevated rock climbing experience – pun intended – a 12m-long bouldering wall is also available. Even kids aged 2-6 can challenge themselves to a climb.

Rilakkuma and friends have stopped by to have a beary fun time. Enjoy a leisurely spin on the Ferris Wheel, take on a game of bowling, or snap photos with the kawaii characters found around the Departure Hall and B2.

Carnival Credits are required to enjoy the rides and games. Spend at least $80 in Changi Airport Public Areas or $100 in supermarkets to receive 5 free Carnival Credits. 14. Treat yourself to a staycation at Mondrian Singapore Duxton

17. Crack open a cold one at a beer festival with >100 brews


Have a day of beer-filled fun at the Urban Beer Festival, a 2-day event for craft beer lovers in the CBD. Knock down some pints from over 20 independent craft breweries. 18. Thrill the kids with interactive puppetry at The Artground

A sound installation and performance might be a fun yet educational way to keep the children entertained this March holiday. NATURI is an inclusive programme that caters to children aged 18 months and above, including those with special needs who have physical or psychomotor abilities up to 4 years old.

Children will learn about the different elements of music – such as form and timbre – as they get to explore the various props shared by the performers.
