Chinatown free art jamming
If you haven’t heard of Pearl’s Hill Terrace, where have you been? The up and coming arts enclave in Chinatown is home to everything artsy you can imagine from themed photo studios to pseudo tattoo studios. On 5th March 2022, an art jamming house in the area, called The Art Nooq, will be hosting a mini-carnival with free art jamming for youths who pop by with a senior aged 65 years and above.

Happening for one day only, the carnival is a pop-up event organised by non-profit organisation Doing OK, Boomer?, a student-led initiative that tackles elderly loneliness.
Come by A Date with My Boomer (The Carnival) with your grandma, grandpa or even your parents to enjoy a free 2-hour-long art jamming session. As long as your plus one is 65 and above, you’ll qualify for the complimentary activity. Lunch will also be provided if you register for the 10AM or 12PM sessions.

All you have to do is chope a time slot via Doing OK, Boomer’s sign up form. Each youth – between 18 and 24 years old – can bring up to two seniors to enjoy the session. Limited slots are available so be sure to register soon.

Other than playing Picasso for a day, visitors can also enjoy side activities and games like tarot card reading, mahjong bingo, manicures and photobooth stations. All of these are also free with every registration, and you’ll also walk away with a complimentary set of conversational card game, “Doing OK, Boomer?”. Who says a day out in Singapore needs to be expensive?
A Date with My Boomer at Chinatown
Chances are, many of us might be a little guilty of not spending enough time with our elders. If you’d like to get to know your older folks a little beyond “jiak ba buay” (have you eaten), swing by this pop up event at The Art Nooq for an unconventional “Satur-date”.
Date: 5th March 2022 only
Time: 10AM-6PM
Venue: 195 Pearl’s Hill Terrace, #01-58, Singapore 168976
