Natural Asia Health at Holiday Plaza in JB

With our packed 9-to-6 schedules and never-ending to-do lists, heading to a spa in Singapore can feel like a rare treat. But if you’ve already managed to squeeze in spots like the women-only Hanfu spa Yagyo Haven and the 24-hour spa complex House+ Bubble, then it might be time to broaden the search a little further.

Just across the Causeway in Johor Bahru, Natural Asia Health at Holiday Plaza is a newer spa option that’s easy on the wallet, offering massage services and access to relaxation facilities.

Unlike the usual massage places in JB, this spot also has plenty of facilities, like a sauna and arcade, for you to unwind and relax after your treatment.

What can you expect at Natural Asia Health?

A wide range of massage services

The spa mainly focuses on TCM-style massage services – one example is the Chinese meridian massage, also known as Tui Na, where pressure is exerted on your body’s acupoints. Another option is the lymphatic drainage massage, where light, sweeping strokes are used to encourage lymph flow towards lymph nodes to reduce swelling.

Selected massage packages, such as the physiotherapy massage or lymphatic massage, include aroma oil for an added touch of relaxation.

You can always let your masseur know if you prefer more or less pressure. While some staff mainly speak Mandarin, the Thai masseurs are generally able to communicate in English.

Other popular TCM-style treatments available include cupping, which involves suction, and Gua Sha, where your body is scraped with a smooth-edged tool. Don’t be shocked after your treatment when you see red circular marks left on your body from cupping or minor bruising from Gua Sha.

According to some online reviews, a few masseurs here might try to hard-sell more premium services. If you’re not looking to splurge, just remember to stay firm and polite.

Movies with your foot massage

@kenlee360

New hidden gem in JB unlocked — Nature Asia Health 🌿♨️ This newly opened health spa seriously surprised me. The place is HUGE and once you enter, you get 4 HOURS FREE to enjoy all the facilities inside 😱 ✔️ Warm jacuzzi ✔️ Steam bath ✔️ Sauna ✔️ All types of massage ✔️ FREE entertainment area with billiard, computer games, Xbox and more 🎮🎱 Big mistake though… we should have gone for the jacuzzi + steam bath FIRST before the massage 😂 The massage experience was super unique. You actually go into a cinema-style room where you can lie down, sleep or even watch movies while enjoying your massage 😮 I went for foot + neck massage and added extra cupping for my back. Honestly, my back feels much less stiff now and my whole body feels so relaxed. BUT after cupping, cannot shower or hit water immediately… so I couldn’t enjoy the jacuzzi after that 😭 What a pity. Next time ba… now I know the correct sequence already 🤣 This place might become my new favourite relaxation spot in JB already ✨ #JohorBahru #JB #JBFood #JBMassage #JBSpa

If you’re opting for a foot massage, you can even enjoy it within the cinema.

Best of all, if you happen to have the space all to yourself, you’ll get to take full control of the projector. Feel free to use video streaming platforms like Netflix, Disney+, and Prime Video to binge-watch your favourite series while the masseurs work their magic on your feet.

Enjoy a dip in the jacuzzi

If you’re a little shy, you’ll be relieved to know that you can keep your spa outfit on while you soak in the jacuzzi. The water is kept at a comfortably warm temperature, with just the right amount of pressure for a relaxing hydro-massage.

Sweat it out in the sauna & steam room

Some people say that Singapore’s weather is already a permanent sauna, but this sauna actually has health benefits – it helps to soothe tired muscles, improve circulation, and eliminate toxins.

On the other hand, the steam room uses moist steam to generate heat, which improves skin hydration and provides respiratory relief for those dealing with constant cold and allergies.

Freshen up in the changing room & shower

There is also a changing room and showers with cubicles for you to wash up before and after taking a dip in the jacuzzi and sweating it out in the sauna and steam rooms. Basic toiletries like hair dryers and combs are provided, so you won’t need to bring your own.

Grab a meal at the buffet

When you’re feeling peckish, head to the dining area with a buffet that’s free for all visitors. You’ll find hot meals like fried hokkien mee, curry chicken, vegetables, and steamed buns, as well as instant noodles that are cooked to order. Just a heads up: the more popular food items may run out towards the end of the day.

If you’re not feeling that hungry, there are also cut fruits and snacks like Hello Panda, as well as a variety of ice cream to satisfy your sweet tooth.

Don’t forget to replenish and hydrate your body after sweating it out with some Chinese tea, herbal tea, or milk tea.

Play a game at the arcade
