Marina Bay Sands SkyPark guide

Easily the most iconic building in Singapore of this millennium, Marina Bay Sands is loved by tourists and locals alike. Apart from shopping for luxury brands at Shoppes at MBS and eating at celebrity chef restaurants, one must make their way up to the 57th floor and check out the Marina Bay Sands SkyPark.

Here is where you can get access to the observation deck – one of Singapore’s most scenic spots to take in panoramic views of the city and Marina Bay; all while enjoying the fresh breeze from the top floor of the hotel.

Take the Circle or Downtown Line to Bayfront MRT station (CE1/DT16). Once you’ve arrived, make your way to Exit C or D and start walking to Marina Bay Sands Tower 3. You’ll be able to access the entrance to the observation deck when you get there.

By car

Marina Bay Sands can be accessed through Sheares Avenue. For those driving, you’ve got a few route options. One is to take the East Coast Parkway (ECP) expressway to get to Sheares Avenue.

Otherwise, you can also take the Ayer Rajah Expressway (AYE), Kallang-Paya Lebar Expressway (KPE), or Central Expressway (CTE), all of which should lead to the Marina Coastal Expressway (MCE).

Meanwhile, for valet parking, entrances are located at Bayfront Avenue outside of Hotel 3 (North Entrance) or near the ArtScience Museum (North Entrance). You can also park at Bayfront Link near Sands Expo & Convention Centre (South Entrance)

By bus

The buses that offer daily services are 97, 106, 518, 133, and 502. Any of these buses will drop you off at the Marina Bay Sands Hotel, just outside Tower 2.

Evenings are the ideal time to visit Marina Bay Sands SkyPark observation deck. Not only will you get to escape the blazing afternoon sun, you’ll also get to catch the sunset.

We recommend getting there around 6.30pm, so you’ll be able to see the view during the day and at night within 45 minutes. The lights around the city and at Gardens by the Bay switch on after 7pm. However, do take note that this is the most popular timing, so if you want to avoid crowds, then visit during the day.

If you’re looking for a spot to dine at Marina Bay Sands SkyPark, you can check out CÉ LA VI. It’s also on the 57th floor, right where the SkyPark is, so you won’t need to leave the deck to grab a bite.

Grab a table at the restaurant area for a proper meal. Otherwise, you can head over to its SkyBar for cocktails and light bites while enjoying the rooftop view.

Pro-tip: There are 2 ways to enjoy the view from the top of MBS without needing to visit the platform on the observation deck. You can either make a reservation with CÉ LA VI or stroll in and pay a $30 entrance fee, which you can use as credits to spend on food and drinks.

That said, it is better to secure your seats with a reservation, especially over the weekends, when the crowd tends to get busier. On quieter days, you can take a chance and walk in.

Sorry to disappoint but visitors to Marina Bay Sands SkyPark cannot enter the Infinity Swimming Pool unless they are also guests staying at the hotel. However, you can get a glimpse of the pool from the lounge area of CÉ LA VI.

What to know before entering Marina Bay Sands SkyPark

There are a few things to keep in mind before you enter Marina Bay Sands SkyPark. Firstly, we’d say skip the observation deck when it’s raining to avoid getting completely drenched; there is no shelter.

However, if you’ve been at SkyPark for less than an hour before they close due to bad weather, you can potentially qualify for a refund. And while we’re on the topic, though umbrellas are permitted, they won’t be of much help due to strong winds at the top.

Next, as cute as your pets may be, they’re unfortunately not allowed onto the observation deck unless they’re service animals. When it comes to fancy camera gear, it’s best to leave them at home. However, that doesn’t mean you can’t flaunt your mobile photography instead. Also, be mindful of waving your selfie stick around when the deck is crowded.

Last but not least, remember the golden rule: no outside snacks or drinks are allowed.

Enjoy the view & get Instaworthy shots at Marina Bay Sands Skypark

With its high vantage point and 300m-long platform, the Marina Bay Sands SkyPark observation deck is one of the most Instagrammable things to do. So, add it to your bucket list.

Plus, it’s close to several other attractions such as the ArtScience Museum and Digital Light Canvas by TeamLab. No need to worry about running out of things to do on your next visit to Marina Bay Sands.
