Nature lovers, here’s a new spot to add to your hiking list. Set to open in March 2025, Rainforest Wild Asia is a 13-hectare park at Mandai Wildlife Reserve that’ll house 29 animal species and 7,000 Southeast Asian plants.
This isn’t your average park either – here, visitors can explore 10 nature zones, including cool scenic sites like The Karsts, which will showcase unique limestone formations, and The Cavern, modelled after the Mulu Caves in Sarawak. If you’re feeling adventurous, there’s also a thrilling attraction called the Canopy Jump, where daredevils can bungee jump from a 20m- high vantage point.

Be on the lookout for rare animal sightings here too. Besides being home to the Malayan Tiger, Rainforest Wild Asia will also house the Francois’ Langur monkey and Philippine Spotted Deer – 2 species not native to Singapore.

Along with Rainforest Wild Asia, Mandai Wildlife Reserve will also be unveiling its new eco-resort, Mandai Rainforest Resort, in April 2025. The 338-room resort by Banyan Tree will be conveniently nestled between Mandai’s 5 wildlife parks – the Singapore Zoo, Night Safari, River Wonders, Bird Paradise, and the upcoming Rainforest Wild.
For the full rainforest experience, guests can opt to stay in the resort’s treehouse accommodations, which are essentially elevated treehouse-like rooms with attached private patios, overlooking the forest’s vegetation. Mandai Rainforest Resort will also sport facilities like a sustainable dining restaurant, and Banyan Tree Spa.

5. Super Nintendo World
First in SEA
First Minion Land, and now…Super Nintendo World? While no deets have been finalised yet, it was reported by multiple news sites that Super Nintendo World – yes, like the one in Universal Studios Japan -, would be opening in 2025.

We’re not quite sure what attractions to expect just yet, but if USS’s Super Nintendo World is anything like USJ’s, we can look forward to an ultra-cool Mario World backdrop, futuristic rides, and meet-and-greets with the beloved video game’s characters.
6. Singapore Oceanarium
3 times larger than S.E.A. Aquarium
In the first half of 2025, S.E.A. Aquarium will be rebranded as Singapore Oceanarium. The new aquarium is expected to be a whopping 3 times bigger than the current one, and will feature new exhibitions like holographic depictions of deep sea creatures, and zones dedicated to prehistoric ocean life. There’ll also be a greater focus on educating visitors about sustainability and conservation through the installations here.

7. Punggol Digital District

Dubbed “Singapore’s Silicon Valley” and “first smart district”, Punggol Digital District will finally be completed in January 2025. The 50-hectare development is anticipated to create 28,000 jobs in the digital and tech industry, and will also be home to SIT’s new campus.

Other cool things to look out for include sky terrace gardens with studying pods, and a heritage trail that connects Punggol Waterway Park to Punggol Point Park. The new Punggol Coast MRT station that opened in December last year will also be a convenient gateway to these places.

8. Haven XR
One-of-a-kind interactive theatre experience
By now, many of us would be familiar with arcade-style virtual reality games, where players don chunky headgear and “step into” video games. Later this year, you’ll get to do the same for movies at Haven XR, a futuristic VR cinema that allows audiences to quite literally become the protagonists of their own movies, controlling their individual fates.
The immersive theatre’s first featured production is not for the faint-hearted – titled The Keeper, the horror short is set on an eerie deserted island that viewers will have to attempt to escape. Definitely a win for horror movie fans.

Hit Broadway musical back in SG for a 3rd run

Ever since Wicked hit theatres last November, it seems like everyone and their mothers have been belting out to the musical’s popular songs (no pun intended). If you, like us, can’t get the OST out of your head, consider catching the Broadway play live at Marina Bay Sands theatres this coming March.
This is Wicked’s 3rd time returning to Singapore. Its previous shows were way back in 2011 and 2016, which means it could be a while till you’ll be able to catch it again after its upcoming run. Tickets start from $78 on Klook.
Date: 19th March-20th April 2025

12. Spring Blossoms: Legend of Lady White Snake
IG-worthy CNY floral display at GBTB
Image credit: Gardens By The Bay
Just in time for CNY, Gardens By The Bay will be bringing a new exhibition to the Flower Dome, titled Spring Blossoms: Legend of Lady White Snake. As its name states, the vibrant floral display takes inspo from the Chinese folktale, The Legend of the White Snake, which tells the story of a romance between a mortal man and a female snake spirit.
The garden’s centrepiece will be a 4.5 metre-tall floral sculpture depicting Madam White Snake, planted alongside 1,000 dahlias.
