Things to do in Bintan in 2022

The three magic letters of 2022 are no longer ILY, but VTL. Vaccinated Travel Lanes by Sea (VTL Sea) have recently put some of our favourite islands like Batam and Bintan back on the map. You can read about the new things to do in Batam; as for the sandy island of Bintan, visitors can expect a handful of activities from off-road adventures to firefly spotting.

Below are some attractions to add to your travel itinerary if you’re already planning a visit to the island. Take note that according to Indonesia’s travel bubble restrictions, eligible travellers can only stay in Lagoi – which lies in the northwestern area of the island. No worries, it’s also where most of the resorts and attractions are.

VTL travel ideas in 2022

We’re glad to finally be able to return to the land of beach resorts and affordable activities. With the new VTL Sea arrangements, more attractions should be re-opening soon. Hopefully, the other areas of the islands will open up to tourism in the near future as well.

You can book your ferry tickets to Bintan via Bintan Resort Ferries, where tickets are priced from S$80/adult for a two-way trip.
