Therme Singapore spa
One might sometimes seriously wonder: what could Singapore not attain? Just a couple days ago, ground was broken in Marina South, next to Marina Barrage and Gardens by the Bay, for what’s slated to be Asia’s first large-scale wellness attraction – Therme Singapore.
With this opening, it seems like Singaporeans will no longer need to traipse across the globe to find such facilities. Here’s everything we know about the upcoming destination for relaxation:
When is it opening?
Construction is scheduled to begin in the third quarter of 2026, and Therme Singapore is meant to open in 2030.
What is Therme Group?
@meganhomme how was this only $45?? #travelvlog #travelbucketlist #bucharest #romania #thermebucharest
Before we get into the deets of what to expect at this upcoming chill-stination, Therme Group, who won the bid, is the company behind massive spa attractions Therme Bucharest, said to be the biggest spa in Europe, and Therme Erding, in Germany.
Each of these mega spas, with upcoming ones in Manchester, Dubai, Toronto, Washington, Incheon and more, is a state-of-the-art oasis, designed based on the company’s R&D into the health benefits of immersive natural environments.
With over 20 years of experience, and what’s said to be 10 best-in-class specialist divisions in everything from architecture, sustainable technology, water science, nutrition, and inclusive wellness experiences, to cultural programming, what we can be sure of is that Singapore is in for a real treat.

There’s still some years yet before Therme Singapore opens, but what we do know is that this development sits on 4 hectares of land – the equivalent of 32 Olympic-sized swimming pools. That’s just the land area, by the way. The built-up space is expected to be something like 720,000sqft, which is more than 9 football fields.

It will be 7 storeys high, built to a cost of $1 billion, with what Therme Group said are “thermal pools, lush botanical landscapes, world-class art installations and cutting-edge health technology under one roof”.
If that’s all a bit too woo-woo, here are the facts: there will be more than 20 pools and water features, and over 70 wellness treatment rooms.
3 zones & a tropical indoor environment

There will be thermal baths, or onsen if you will, water slides, and saunas. Split into 3 zones, Play, Relax, and Restore, the entire spa will be maintained at a balmy 30°C.
Look forward to 18 water slides and children’s pools at Play, thermal pools and mineral baths at Relax, and saunas, massage rooms, and cold plunge pools at Restore.
P.S.: There are meant to be hangout spots with sea views too!
Singapore-exclusive treatments
While the entire spa and concept are distinctively foreign – we are more accustomed to seeing such complexes in Europe, for example – Therme Singapore will offer Singapore-exclusive treatments, including TCM and Javanese options.
How much are tickets?
Ticket prices for Therme Singapore are not yet available, but Therme Group has said that they will be kept affordable, so that the wellness complex will be accessible to all demographic groups.
Therme Singapore will open at Marina South
Whether you’re an onsen junkie or just a water baby, this might be the most exciting opening of 2030 for you to look forward to. And with all its promises of water slides and pools, it’s set to be a one-stop family destination where you can chill and get in some me-time while the kids have fun.
Exciting things lie ahead; Wetlands by the Bay is also slated to open in the vicinity come 2028, so it’s not a total drought till 2030.
