Can an online doctor give MC?
Yes, you can get a medical certificate (MC) through a telemedicine consultation in Singapore. In fact, government health institutions have already started digitalising MCs.
There are measures in place to ensure the legitimacy of an online MC, such as including the doctor’s name and registration number, as well as providing authentication services to prove the legitimacy of the MC.
Medical professionals are also trained to suss out MC fraudulence, meaning, yes, you can be rejected for an MC if a doctor has reason to believe that a virtual consultation isn’t enough to diagnose and provide you with an MC.
How do I get medicine from telemedicine consultation?
For the most part, medicine would be delivered to you within the day after your consultation. If you require your medication more urgently, you can ask for express delivery, which would come at an additional cost.
Can I use CHAS Card for online doctor consultations?
Yes, you may use your CHAS Card for teleconsultations, but only for chronic conditions under the Chronic Disease Management Programme (CDMP). This includes diabetes, hypertension, dementia, epilepsy, and mental health issues such as schizophrenia, major depression, bipolar disorder, and anxiety. You may want to check with your teleconsultation provider first on the acceptance of CHAS Card before booking an appointment.

Minmed Connect review: “I always find the queue here much shorter than [other teleconsults]; it’s the same price too. But there should be an option for the doctors to waive the consult fee for extension of MC for the same condition, just like in physical clinics. Was simply told by the doctor that he doesn’t control the pricing.” – copper- via App Store
