YouTrip’s Malaysian Ringgit wallet
If your idea of a great weekend involves crossing the border for cheap JB massages, supper, and grocery hauls, good news – YouTrip just dropped their new Malaysian Ringgit (MYR) wallet, which has a ton of perks for JB regulars.
From locking in better exchange rates to snagging free bus rides across the Causeway and cashback on MYR spends, you’re basically getting rewarded just for being a seasoned JB visitor.
Here’s everything you need to know to make the most out of this launch:
Locking in the best MYR exchange rates
With YouTrip’s latest update, users in Singapore can now exchange and store MYR directly in the app. It means you can lock in a rate you’re happy with in advance and avoid foreign exchange fees or last-minute mark-ups.
All you need to do is check the Mastercard Calculator for the latest exchange rate, top up your YouTrip wallet in SGD, and exchange your desired amount to MYR. Just like that, you’re ready to tap and pay across the border.
Free weekend shuttle rides to JB
To celebrate the rollout, YouTrip is offering free shuttle bus rides from Singapore to JB and back, every weekend from now till 11th May 2025. The buses are decked out in the brand’s signature purple, so they are hard to miss.

Buses will run every 30 minutes, bringing you from Kranji MRT to Mid Valley Southkey and back to Singapore, from 9am to 9.30pm on Saturdays and Sundays. You’ll need to pre-book a slot via their weekly sign-up forms that’ll be posted on YouTrip’s Instagram Stories and Telegram channel on 28th April and 5th May 2025 at 12pm.
Get cashback on your JB spending
YouTrip is also giving 3% cashback on MYR purchases when you spend a minimum of S$200 from now till 17th June 2025. This applies to both in-store and online purchases, and is capped at S$9 per user. Only the first 5,000 redemptions will be eligible, so don’t wait too long to activate the offer in-app.
On top of that, there are brand-specific cashback perks you can check out under the “Perks” tab in the app:
- 10% at JD Sports
- 5% at Lotus’s
- 5% at CARiNG Pharmacy
- 5% at selected Decathlon outlets (JB Toppen, City Square, and AEON Bukit Indah)

If you’re heading into JB between 9th to 11th May or 6th to 8th June 2025, keep an eye out for YouTrip’s booth at Komtar JBCC from 10am to 10pm. There’ll be games that’ll give you the chance to score exclusive merch, including blind box prizes and staycation vouchers.
