Singapore Oceanarium is opening at Resorts World Sentosa
Less than 3 months after the S.E.A. Aquarium closed its doors on 30th April, the rebranded, revamped, and rejuvenated aquarium is reopening on 23rd July 2025 as the Singapore Oceanarium. Here’s everything you need to know about what to expect.
What’s new at Singapore Oceanarium?

3 times larger than the SEA Aquarium, the Singapore Oceanarium is redefining the whole under the sea experience. And yes, it’s still located in Sentosa, exactly where the old aquarium used to be.

One of the 22 thematic zones that you can look forward to includes Ocean Wonders, which is set to house one of the world’s largest kreisel habitats.
But first, what is a kreisel habitat? A kreisel tank is one that utilises a circular flow of water to create a gentle, smooth current, making such aquariums ideal for delicate marine life such as jellyfish.
At Ocean Wonders, an updated edition of the SEA Aquarium’s Jellyfish Gallery, visitors can prepare to be dazzled by thousands of otherworldly moon jellies.
Prehistoric ocean creatures & fossils

Another couple of zones to look forward to are Ancient Waters and Conquering Land, where you’ll find life-sized prehistoric creatures and living fossils, and embark on a journey through the story of evolution.
Life-sized whale carcass & ecosystem

For more close encounters with giants of the ocean, Whale Fall and Sea Mount is yet another zone you’ll pass through, where a life-sized whale’s body on the ocean floor has been recreated, alongside the entire ecosystem that exists in it.
Get up close to manta rays & sharks
Some of the highlights in the old SEA Aquarium included its Open Ocean Habitat zone, as well as the Apex Predators of the Sea zone, both of which took visitors into the depths of the ocean. Get the best of both worlds at the all-new Open Ocean, whose 36m-wide viewing panel lets you get up close and personal with Reef Manta Rays and Zebra Sharks.

Closer to home, Singapore Coast is a locally inspired zone that has recreated the mangrove habitats that we find around our island. It’s an immersive experience showcasing our native biodiversity, allowing visitors to step into the mangroves without having to trek to Sungei Buloh Wetland Reserve.

No visit to any attraction is complete without a trip to the souvenir shop, and the all-new Singapore Oceanarium Store is a marine-inspired space which is set to stock marine-themed clothes, educational books, and souvenirs that have been produced by sustainable brands.
What’s more, there will be seasonal pop-ups and capsule collections by local brands, so the lineup at the Singapore Oceanarium Store will always be something to look forward to.

Besides being at the forefront of aquarium exhibits around the world, Singapore Oceanarium will also lead the way on the marine research frontier with their new Research & Learning Centre.
Immersive learning labs, collaborative workspaces, seminar rooms and a rooftop event space are just a few of the many facilities at the Centre, which will support its goal to push the boundaries of marine research, education and conservation.
It walks the talk, too – the Research & Learning Centre is a certified Green Mark Platinum Zero Energy Building that minimises its environmental impact through the use of solar power and smart design.

And with that, the Singapore Oceanarium is now a “purpose-driven institute” that will inspire “a new generation of ocean stewards”, says its Vice President, Lam Xue Ying. Details regarding ticket prices and opening hours are not available yet; we will update this article with more information when we have it.
