The season of love may be over, and we’ve already left behind the festivities of Chinese New Year in February, but don’t fret because there’s a whole lineup of events and happenings in March that you can look forward to. Grab your calendars, because you’re going to want to mark these dates down.
1. Indulge in $2 laksa and durian pudding at the Food and Beverage Fair

Drop by the Food and Beverage Fair 2019 to get your hands on a wide array of local and International cuisines. This year, you can expect unique dishes like pineapple bak kwa and desserts like Mao Shan Wang pudding.

You’ll find plenty of discounted food items at the fair, such as a box of 6 Macarons from Annabella Patisserie for $10 (usual price $18). Keep your eyes peeled for the a $2 laksa as well!

2. Explore the idea of identity and belonging at OH! Open House

OH! Open House is an independent arts organisation that explores lesser-known stories of Singapore through a series of art events.
Their latest one is Passport, where 6 artists examine the implications their passports have had on their identity, sense of belonging, and idea of home – and turn it into art. You can look forward to pop-up art experiences all over Singapore, some of which will be held in the artists’ very own homes.

3. Shop from local brands at the new Design Orchard mall
Design Orchard is a sleek new mall offering items from over 60 local brands, all managed by local retailer Naiise. It even has a rooftop garden where you can get a view of the bustling shopping belt of Orchard Road.

4. Celebrate female empowerment at Fearless Females – Queens of their Craft

In celebration of this year’s International women’s day, Fearless Females Queens of their Craft will gather female artists, creators and entrepreneurs to showcase clothes, interactive art installations and baked goods.
There’ll also be a panel discussion by successful entrepreneurs such as clay sculptor Qixuan Lim who is known for her realistic clay art resembling babies and human organs. Style Theory will also be providing fashion styling tips and you can even have a chat with co-founder Raena Lim.

5. Try a scenic new running route in the North of Singapore
If you’ve gotten tired of your old running routes, and want to discover new sights on your next run, check out a new list of running routes in the North here. Whether you prefer running amidst nature, next to water bodies or concrete jungles, this list has it all.
6. Watch comedy shows and acrobatic street performances at Singapore Festival of Fun

Festival of Fun offers a lineup of family-friendly events to fill up your March holidays, which includes street performances by acrobats and contortionists, as well as the International Comedy Festival which spans across 5 days.

Alternatively, bring your kiddos to Nickelodeon Fiesta, a carnival with games featuring their favourite characters from cartoons like Paw Patrol, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, and Spongebob Squarepants.

7. Participate in a beauty swap and get eco-friendly cosmetics at the Ethical Beauty Marketplace

While many of us have given up plastic straws in the name of being environmentally friendly, much can still be done. Ethical Beauty Marketplace hopes to promote the use of eco-friendly beauty products from local brands like LUXE Botanics and WANT Skincare.
There’ll also be a beauty swap where you’ll be able to trade samples or lightly used beauty items with others to prevent wastage.

8. Get splashed in colour at Rang Barsay Holi 2019

Rang Barsay Holi is a Hindu festival that celebrates the arrival of spring, where people throw coloured powder and water at each other. It’s the biggest Spring colour festival in Singapore and will be held at Wave House Sentosa. Anyone can join in, regardless of religion.

9. Shop for new gadgets at IT Show 2019

10. Partake in an 80s roller disco and watch drag shows at Singapore Urban Design Festival

At, Singapore Urban Design Festival look forward to participating in an 80s roller disco, where you can rent rollerblades and skate to old-school music. You can also enjoy live performances by drag queens as well as local singers like Joie Tan and LEW, along with design workshops and art installations. There’ll also be a pop-up bar and food vendors on site.

11. View cherry blossoms at GBTB’s Sakura Matsuri exhibition

You won’t have to travel all the way to Japan for cherry blossom season because you’ll be able to catch these pink blooms at Gardens by the Bay’s Sakura Matsuri, which will also feature familiar sights like torii gates.

14. Put on your dancing shoes at Summer Jam Dance Camp 2019

Summer Jam Dance Camp is the largest dance convention in the region, offering classes conducted by celebrity choreographers and dance mentors. It doesn’t matter if you’re a professional dancer or a total newbie to the dance scene because everyone’s welcome to sign up! You can buy tickets for classes here.

But if you’d rather just watch dance performances, check out SCAPE Radikal Forze Jam, a breakdancing competition where b-boy and all-style dancers from around the world gather to compete with each other. 15. Take your little ones to a restaurant with free kids’ meals
