The season of love may be over, and we’ve already left behind the festivities of Chinese New Year in February, but don’t fret because there’s a whole lineup of events and happenings in March that you can look forward to. Drop by the Food and Beverage Fair 2019 to get your hands on a wide array of local and International cuisines. This year, you can expect unique dishes like pineapple bak kwa and desserts like Mao Shan Wang pudding.

2. Explore the idea of identity and belonging at OH! Open House

OH! Open House is an independent arts organisation that explores lesser-known stories of Singapore through a series of art events. 

Their latest one is Passport, where 6 artists examine the implications their passports have had on their identity, sense of belonging, and idea of home – and turn it into art. You can look forward to pop-up art experiences all over Singapore, some of which will be held in the artists’ very own homes.

3. Shop from local brands at the new Design Orchard mall

Design Orchard is a sleek new mall offering items from over 60 local brands, all managed by local retailer Naiise. It even has a rooftop garden where you can get a view of the bustling shopping belt of Orchard Road.

4. Celebrate female empowerment at Fearless Females – Queens of their Craft

In celebration of this year’s International women’s day, Fearless Females Queens of their Craft will gather female artists, creators and entrepreneurs to showcase clothes, interactive art installations and baked goods. 

There’ll also be a panel discussion by successful entrepreneurs such as clay sculptor Qixuan Lim who is known for her realistic clay art resembling babies and human organs. Style Theory will also be providing fashion styling tips and you can even have a chat with co-founder Raena Lim.

While many of us have given up plastic straws in the name of being environmentally friendly, much can still be done. Ethical Beauty Marketplace hopes to promote the use of eco-friendly beauty products from local brands like LUXE Botanics and WANT Skincare. 

There’ll also be a beauty swap where you’ll be able to trade samples or lightly used beauty items with others to prevent wastage.

Rang Barsay Holi is a Hindu festival that celebrates the arrival of spring, where people throw coloured powder and water at each other. It’s the biggest Spring colour festival in Singapore and will be held at Wave House Sentosa. Anyone can join in, regardless of religion.

You can also enjoy live performances by drag queens as well as local singers like Joie Tan and LEW, along with design workshops and art installations.
