If there’s any particular food we miss during this circuit breaker, it’s BBQ food. Don’t get us wrong – we miss our bubble tea, fried chicken and dim sum too, but those are widely available for delivery. 

On the other hand, nothing seems to match the tasty and smoky barbecued food you would normally get in hawker centers. Now with these places out of bounds, barbecued food is hard to come by.

The menu

Each family package is perfect to feed a family of 4 (or just yourself if you have a super huge appetite, we’re not judging). At a flat price of $60, that comes up to only $15 each for a full barbecued meal delivered straight to your doorstep! 

Apart from 4 portions of fragrant white rice, here’s what you can expect: 

BBQ stingray

No BBQ meal is complete without a serving of stingray (U.P. $13-21). We’re #teamsambal, but you can choose to have a black pepper one instead if you can’t handle the spice. 

BBQ Lala

If the sight of lala (U.P. $10) is enough to get you salivating, then you’ll be pleased to know that the family package includes this barbecued classic. Have it tossed in either sambal or garlic sauce for that added kick.  

BBQ Sotong

Adding to this BBQ feast is the sotong (U.P. $13) dish in either sambal or garlic sauce. Some say too much sotong is bad, but we say eat first and exercise later – we’ve got plenty of home workouts waiting for us anyway.

Vegetables

To balance out all that barbecued seafood is a vegetable dish (U.P. $7) of your choice. Depending on what you like, you can go for Kang Kong, Kailan, Long Bean or Lady Finger. 

On top of these, feel free to add on items from their menu such as fried eggs, crabs and cockles. You can view the full menu here.
