Hands up if you’re guilty of belting your favourite songs in the shower or car. While we can have a karaoke sesh any time and anywhere, nothing beats a professional sound system and electric atmosphere at a karaoke studio.
We’ve rounded up the best karaoke places in Singapore where you and the gang can channel your inner Adele and sing your hearts out. These include ones with affordable rates and humongous rooms that can fit your whole kampung – so no one will suffer from FOMO.
Table of Contents
Karaoke rooms in Singapore are usually more family-friendly, offering a private space for group gatherings. KTV lounges, short for “karaoke television”, don’t have the best reputation; they’re often frequented by men who come to drink and socialise with bar girls.
Meanwhile, karaoke bars would typically have a public venue for you and your friends to sing on a shared stage or open area in front of an audience. That said, some karaoke bars do offer private rooms to book as well.

Generally, there are no hard and fast rules in karaoke, but you should keep a few etiquette tips in mind.
As fun as karaoke can be, we understand that even the mere thought of singing in front of an audience can be daunting for some people. One tip to calm your nerves would be to focus your attention on the lyrics.
That way, you can tune out the eyes of the people around you. You can also try singing alongside a partner or group to help you feel more comfortable and confident. Otherwise, you can always pick a song in advance and practice singing at home before the karaoke date draws near.
Singing has therapeutic qualities, and karaoke serves as an excellent outlet for letting out bottled-up emotions. Plus, just as with exercising, singing releases endorphins that help lower stress levels and improve your mood.
It doesn’t matter if you’re singing solo or with your pals – live out your childhood dreams of being a superstar and book a room at one of these karaoke studios. Trust me, screaming My Chemical Romance songs or serenading your bae with JJ Lin is absolutely cathartic for the soul.
