$0.50 IKEA photo booth at Alexandra

When I asked my editor what (500) Days Of Summer was I got hit with “omg” and some very criminal offensive side-eye. Apparently, in one of the more memorable scenes, the couple went on an IKEA date, starting a whole cult of copycats going to paktor at this home furnishings store all around the world.

There’s even more reason to go on a date there now because there’s a new $0.50 photo booth at IKEA Alexandra. What’s a better hard launch than a printed photo of the both of you with cute stickers?

Snap & print kiosk located on level 1

The $0.50 IKEA photo booth is hidden in the photo frame section on level 1 of the building. Just keep a lookout for the words “snap and print kiosk”.

Grab your partner or friends and snap some photos for the mems. There’ll be 4 consecutive shots with 5 seconds for each shot. But don’t worry about getting it perfect, if someone has an eye closed in the shot, simply retake it.

If you’re super shy because there are no privacy screens, you also have the option to upload your own photos via the QR code and get them printed out on the spot. Each photo can be printed 10 times, depending on how many copies you need. But if there’s a queue, remember to be considerate and don’t be that person.

Customise with IKEA stickers & filters

If you want to add a little more artistic flair to your photos, throw a filter on or add some IKEA-themed stickers to make your photos pop. Some of my favourites are the iconic plushies and dishes from the Swedish Food Market. You can even immortalise your love for IKEA meatballs in a photo.

You can choose from 3 photo sizes: 10x15cm ($0.50), 13x18cm ($1), and 21x30cm ($2). It’s so affordable, I’d print one for every room in my 4-room BTO. If you compare it to other photo booths in Singapore, some places like Fotomat charges $30/2pax for 30 minutes at their studios, so the IKEA photo booth is a bargain.

Ta da, you’re done. The only thing left to do is to make payment. However, do note that only contactless payment methods are accepted. $0.50 IKEA Alexanda Photo Booth frames

It wouldn’t be an IKEA date without some decently-priced-but-hard-to-pronounce housewares. The sizes of the prints can fit the FISKBO ($2-$4), VÄXBO ($6-$11.90), and HOVSTA ($10) frames respectively – so you might want to purchase a frame on your way out.
