Fun fact: Hello Kitty’s real name is Kitty White. Now that you’re caught up to speed, it’s time to pay homage to all the Hello Kitty toys we’ve collected and celebrate Hello Kitty’s 50th anniversary this year.

The Hello Kitty Exhibition at Tokyo National Museum is said to feature the largest collection of merch ever seen. In other words, you can put your childhood bestie’s collection to shame once and for all.

Do note, this exhibition is time-limited and will only be around till 24th February 2025.

To celebrate the beloved Hello Kitty’s 50th anniversary, this exhibition –  As I Change, So Does She – will take you through her history and iconic moments. You’ll be able to find cool artwork and original video content.

Besides the illustrations and exhibits, you can make use of the cute photo ops and spice up your IG feed.

Take a trip down memory lane and explore Hello! Collaboration – the section devoted to the different collabs, like Sanrio x Converse, shared over time. If you’re an OG fan, you’d remember the chaos that ensued with the announcement of a new Hello Kitty collab. Some of these events were character-building moments for us cultured folk.
