North-Easties flock to Beer Basket Kitchen & Bar for their all-day happy hour on Sundays and Mondaysand 1-for-1 gin and tonic on Wednesdays. With beers going from $29 for 5, and wine menu from a reasonable $49/bottle, it’s no surprise that the place is often packed.

Look out for their slew of promotions covering all days of the week, including $18 steak and frites on Sundays, and $10 Guinness daily until further notice. On the off chance that Western classics like pizzas aren’t your thing, you can get bar bites from all over the world, including Ngoh Niang ($14) and Escargot ($10).

2. Major 99 Ang Mo Kio – Arcade bar open till 2am

Late night spots don’t just exist in the heart of town. Ang Mo Kio residents have it good with Major 99 that opens till as late as 2am on Saturdays, and till 1am for the rest of the week. You won’t just be doing HTHT all night long – the bar has old school arcade machines like basketball and Bishi Bashi. Beer pong, darts, and karaoke machines will also keep the gang happy till closing.

There’s a minimum spend of $28 per table, a number that’s easy to hit as long as you have a couple of friends with you. 3. The Patio – Satay, burgers & beer by the sea

It’s no secret that meals with a stunning view can cost an arm and a leg. At this satay bar in Sembawang however, you’ll find food and drinks at surprisingly affordable prices. Think half pints from $6. Previously located at 1018 Sembawang Road, the ex-hawker bar has now relocated to the waterfront, and you can find it right next to PAssionwave Sembawang.

While it’s a little out of the way now, those willing to take a short Grab ride can still look forward to deals like 1-for-1 house hours on Wednesdays (U.P. $10). Pair your booze with something hearty, like their burgers from $13.60 and chicken, mutton, beef or tripe satay from $10/10 sticks.

Nestled deep within Turf Club Riding Centre is Cheval Café & Bar, a rustic bar surrounded by nature. Here, the highlight is the view – throw back a beer ($35/bucket of 5, $10/pint) as you watch the majestic horses gallop around the stable.

You might expect prices to be pretty steep, but neighhouse pour spirits are priced from just $9 during happy hour, which lasts practically all day, from 12pm-8pm. Singapore Turf Club will only be around till October 2024, so be sure to swing by this unique bar before it’s too late.

For those who aren’t too familiar with the meaty dish, they’re made with tender braised pork belly in fluffy, steamed buns, and can be found at Abundance in Redhill.

6. Tachinomiya – Japanese izakaya under HDB blocks with $7.80 whiskey

If you were excited about visiting The Cider Pit until you realised it was in Joo Chiat, you may want to check out The Jolly Roger in Hillview. The Cornish pub in the West offers a solid range of draught beers, along with ciders and pilsners on tap – popular ones include Pilsner Urquell (from $14).
