It’s not October if you’re gonna keep spooky season all hushed. Halloween in Singapore is all about dressing up, plucking up the courage to visit haunted houses, or simply having a horror movie marathon.

From wild costume parties at clubs to a real-life zombie battle with Nerf guns, there’s a wide range of Halloween events happening this year.

CÉ LA VI is back with another eccentric Halloween party titled Dirty Circus and it’ll feature fire breathers, exotic dancers and contortionists from the iconic Cirque Le Soir. It’ll be like a scene from The Greatest Showman but darker and more fantastical. And with booze!

2. Zedtown Asia: Battle for Singapore

You’ll be experiencing a real-life “zombie apocalypse” at Zedtown Asia’s Battle for Singapore. In this fight for survival, you’ll be running around the National Stadium with your friends and family, and even strangers, armed with Nerf guns to shoot down zombies in real life.

If you get caught however, you will have to turn into a zombie and involves being caked in zombie makeup. But zombie or not, the first 100 ticket holders who present their tickets at Zouk on 26 October 2019 will get complimentary access to Zouk’s Halloween Party.

3. KURSED


Horror-themed escape room with jump scares from pontianaks

If costumes aren’t enough to make your Halloween evening, an escape session at KURSED might be able to give you the thrill you seek with jump scares waiting for you at every corner of the haunted house, along with riddles and missions to complete.

You’ll still be racing against time to escape a locked room but this time, it’ll be a hair-raising event when you encounter figures from Malay ghostlore like the pontianak and pocong.

4. Horrorthon: Zombieland Marathon at Golden Village

Zombies have become a mainstay for anything horror-related. This Halloween, Golden Village is inviting everyone to Zombieland marathon, which includes the current Zombieland movie as well as the second edition Zombieland: Double Tap one week ahead of everyone else in Singapore. There’s gonna be free-flow popcorn so you won’t get hungry through the night!

HeadRock VR’s giving Halloween scares a new twist with their virtual reality rooms. From only $10, you’ll get to bust zombies, ride through a simulated ghost-filled valley and treat yourself to sweets and bubble tea after the heart-stopping scares.

But if not everyone in your gang can handle the spook, they have 11 different attractions spread across 3 zones that aren’t all horror-related. You can take it easy jumping through the jungle like Tarzan at their Jump Jump station or try out archery at their Robin Hood station.

6. USS Halloween Horror Nights

It’s a Halloween ritual for many of us to visit Universal Studios Singapore’s Halloween Horror Nights for a good scare. This year, you can expect regional horror icons like the langsuir, naga and orang minyak amongst many other classic vengeful spirits.

If clowns freak the daylights out of you, the Twisted Clown University is where you’d want to be. It’s a whole house of clowns but not the funny ones – these are the evil ones that lurk in your nightmares.

There’ll be a total of 5 haunted houses to explore but if you need a break, there’ll be a chilling performance to catch and a street of more lighthearted carnival games.

7. Halloween Night Skate 2019

For the faint-hearted who still want to be a part of the fun without the jump scares, Halloween Night Skate 2019 will bring you through the Halloween celebrations across Orchard, on wheels. While decked in your costume, you’ll be skating a grand distance of 12km starting from The Cathay all the way to ION, with some stopovers including the Singapore Flyer, Clarke Quay and SMU’s tunnel.

8. Dia De Los Muertos 2019 at Lucha Loco

Lucha Loco, together with the Mexican Association of Singapore, is celebrating the Day of the Dead with a weekend fiesta that you don’t want to flake on if you’re looking for an authentic Mexican experience. You’ll get sugar skull face paint and the opportunity to bash a giant skull pinata, all while sipping special concoctions including your own DIY Margaritas.

You will want to come dressed to the nines ‘cos they’ve got attractive prizes like dining vouchers and a bottle of Espolon Reposado tequila for more after-party fun. There will also be a performance by a La Catrina drag queen.

9. Cathay Horror Haunt: Asian Dark Hour – The Revenge of the Unsettled

It won’t be a regular visit to the movies if you’re heading to The Cathay or Cineleisure Orchard this month. They’re celebrating Halloween with Cathay Horror Haunt: Asian Dark Hour – The Revenge of the Unsettled, where you’ll meet Sadako, Pontianaks and Chinese vampires in their pop-up haunted houses.

Anyone can enter these haunted houses, all you have to do is to spend a minimum of $5 within the mall and you’ll get to experience the scenes from iconic horror movies come to life as you walk through the haunted houses. Otherwise, you can also enter by paying $10 per person.

10. ACM After Dark: Tales From Beyond


Fortune telling, chilling performances, and panel talks about the paranormal

The Asian Civilisations Museum is opening their doors after hours to invite everyone into a fantastical world filled with ghosts, immortals and demons – a scene inspired by the Chinese book, Strange Tales. What’ll happen within the doors include chilling performances and panel talks about the paranormal.

Specially for Halloween, there’ll also be an adults-only immersive storytelling in the dark. You’ll also be able to make your own souvenirs like pipe cleaner spiders at their craft workshop or get your fortune read by a fortune teller.

11. The Qult at Marquee Nightclub

Marquee, the new kid on the block which also happens to be the largest nightclub in Singapore, is presenting their first ever Halloween party this year: The Qult. You can expect a Las Vegas kind of extra with 3 levels of partying and a whole ferris wheel within the club itself.
