Hot on the heels of Northshore Plaza in Punggol, Sengkang Grand Mall in Buangkok, and The Woodleigh Mall in – well, Woodleigh, there’s yet another mall opening along the North-East Line: Anchorvale Village.
It’s 2 LRT stops away from Sengkang MRT station, which means that residents of the Anchorvale and Fernvale regions no longer need to venture all the way to Compass One to shop and dine.

There’s no lack of food options in Anchorvale Village, with over 20 eateries in the mall. These include fan-favourite fast food joints like A&W and Jollibee, Swee Heng bakery and Ya Kun Kaya Toast for brekkie, and Swee Choon, so you can have an affordable dim sum feast.
If you’re in a rush, pick up takeaway Korean rice bowls and bentos from Bibimbap Dosirak. They’re halal-certified, so you can expect protein choices like unagi, salmon, and gochujang-marinated chicken and beef.
Otherwise, grab a bagel or cream sando from San.Wich. Going at just $3.20 each, these IG-worthy bites are made with colourful bread, naturally flavoured and coloured with vegetables like beetroot, pumpkin, and purple sweet potato.
It’s not just fast food that’s available here. Heartier meals can be had at Rempah by Chilli Padi, which serves Malay and Peranakan cuisine, and Biryani Brew, where you can get dum biryani, prata, thosai, and fluffy naans. Idaten Udon is another popular restaurant that serves bowls of udon you can customise by adding beef slices, oden, or deep-fried sides like fishcake and tempura shrimp.
You can’t leave out dessert in a meal, so treat your sweet tooth to pon de rings and French crullers at the North-East’s first Mister Donut outlet. Or, get waffles and ice cream at local ice-creamery, The Better Scoop. Dou Hua Ah Mei, on the other hand, serves beancurd based desserts that can be enjoyed hot or cold.
ICYMI, a hawker centre has also opened up at Anchorvale Village with 650 seats and 36 different food stalls. If you were expecting the same ol’ hawker fare, then this place will disappoint. Instead, stalls here include 3 Michelin-recommended hawkers.

There’s Pin Wei Hong Kong Style Chee Cheong Fun, which makes their own dim sum classic using a 3-generation-old recipe. Another family-run joint is China Whampoa Homemade Noodles, which makes its own hand-pulled noodles dressed in dark soy and topped with meatballs and seafood.
