Great Eastern Promenade at The Kallang
When you hit your late 20s or 30s, everyone seems to pick a new character class. Some become pickleball people, some become HYROX enthusiasts, and others suddenly start signing up for marathons. But with Singapore’s weather doing the most these days – blazing sun one minute, dramatic thunderstorm the next – outdoor runs can feel like a gamble. That’s where sheltered running routes come in handy.
We already know the National Stadium as the place for major concerts and football matches, but it’s also home to the Great Eastern Promenade, Singapore’s longest sheltered running track. Here’s what to know if you’re looking for a rain-or-shine route to clock your mileage.
Spans 888m around the National Stadium

The Great Eastern Promenade was formerly known as the 100Plus Promenade before being rebranded in March 2026. It spans 888m around the National Stadium – which means you can clock a decent run without having to dodge traffic lights, cyclists, or that one person walking slowly in the middle of the pavement.

Located on Level 3 of the stadium, the track is free to use on non-event days. The biggest perk is that it’s fully sheltered, so you can still get your steps in whether it’s blazing hot or pouring outside. The loop sits under the stadium roof, making it one of Singapore’s largest sheltered public spaces for running, walking, skating, and other light workouts.
There are distance markings along the route too, so you won’t have to rely on Strava or your fitness watch. Plus, the promenade connects easily to spots like Kallang Wave Mall, OCBC Arena, and Stadium MRT.
Plus, there are public toilets and water coolers around the track, so you can easily take a break and grab a sip whenever you want.
Open 24/7 for late-night runs
There’s something oddly therapeutic about doing laps when the world is quiet, especially when you’re not being personally attacked by the afternoon sun. So the next time you’re in need of a midnight run to blow off some steam, head on over to the Great Eastern Promenade, since it’s open 24/7.

That said, do note that parts of the promenade may be restricted during major events at the National Stadium. So if there’s a huge concert or match happening, it’s best to check ahead before making the trip down in your running shoes.

The easiest way to get there is via Stadium MRT, which brings you right into the wider Kallang precinct. The promenade is also connected to nearby facilities like Kallang Wave Mall and OCBC Arena, so you won’t feel like you’re running in some ulu corner of Singapore.
Join kids’ cycling clinics, pickleball sessions & community runs

Besides being a sheltered running route, the Great Eastern Promenade also hosts active-living programmes for both kids and adults. There’s the Great Explorer Programme, where Great Eastern policyholders with children aged 12 and below can sign up for beginner-friendly sports sessions held at the promenade. We love the Junior Pickleball Discovery Sessions, where kids can pick up the basics of pickleball in a guided setting.
There are also Junior Cycling Programmes for children aged 7 to 12, conducted by coaches from the Singapore Cycling Federation. Think beginner and intermediate clinics that help kids build confidence, balance, and cycling techniques in a safe environment. Bicycles will be provided, and participating children will also receive free branded helmets.

Adults aren’t left out either. Those aged 18 and above can join the Great Eastern x Running Department community runs, where runners of all levels gather for monthly sessions along the promenade track.
