All you need to know about Singapore Grand Prix 2024
The first Singapore Grand Prix was held back in 2008 – yes, it’s been 16 years since our Little Red Dot played host to the night race.
Just before coming to Singapore, the F1 drivers will be seen racing in Azerbaijan the weekend prior. Same as every year, all the Singapore Grand Prix action will be taking place around the Marina Bay Street Circuit which covers areas around the Singapore Flyer, MBS, Esplanade, and Padang.
Even if you haven’t caught Netflix’s Drive to Survive, we’re sure you’ll be familiar with names like Lewis Hamilton and Fernando Alonso who are representing Mercedes-AMG and Aston Martin respectively. Look forward to seeing them and their iconic fast cars speed through our city streets on the weekend of 20th-22nd September 2024.
The 3-day affair starts with practice rounds on Friday, qualifiers on Saturday, and the finale on Sunday. Tickets can be purchased for individual days (from $128) as well as packages (from $358) for the entire weekend.
Do note that at this point, most of the tickets including walkabout ones are sold out. So, your next best bet to catch the race is by camping at one of the nearby rooftop bars or booking a hotel in Singapore with F1 views.

The package also includes breakfast buffet at the Peppermint restaurant for 2 adults, and 20% off the à la carte menu at St. Gregory Restaurant. But if you aren’t keen on splurging on the package, you can opt to book just the room – north-facing rooms will get a view of Turns 6-8 of the race, and south-facing ones can catch cars speeding towards Turn 14.

Just a 10-minute walk away from the race track, the Ritz-Carlton Millenia gives you the option of strolling across and witnessing the buzz of the event first-hand. Since it’s right smack in the middle of the track, you’ll also be able to catch the cars heading towards Turns 19 and 20.

Also, The Podium Lounge VIP F1 after-party has been hosted at the hotel’s Grand Ballroom – we may not have received the elusive invite but there’s a slim chance of seeing them celebs there. No harm trying!
3. The Fullerton Hotel Singapore
5-minute walk to the Padang

The Fullerton Hotel gives you a vantage POV of the bridge section – AKA one of the sharpest turns in the circuit. Here, you can watch as drivers navigate and race across the Anderson Bridge before heading towards Esplanade Drive. The Esplanade Room will be the ideal room to stay in, but any north-facing room should do the trick too.

Its proximity to the tracks also means you can take a quick 5-minute walk to Gate 5 and 6 if you want in on some on-track action.
4. Swissotel The Stamford
Tallest hotel in Singapore with bird’s eye view of the F1 race track

Swissotel The Stamford is no foreign name to both locals and tourists alike. At 73 floors, it is the tallest hotel in Singapore. You’ll want to opt for the Premier Harbour View or the Swiss Harbour View rooms for the best views. But fret not if these aren’t available, you can head over to the Level 65 Lounge where FOC admission is granted for guests staying at select rooms.

And judging by past F1 maps, you’ll be well-situated to watch the cars drift along the winding parts of the course, head out of Turn 9, and speed towards the Padang.
>5. Mandarin Oriental Singapore
Rooms with floor-to-ceiling windows facing the race track

Set near the popular Bay Grandstand and along Zone 3 of the track is Mandarin Oriental. The floor-to-ceiling windows mean you’ll have a clear shot of the fast-approaching cars along the Esplanade section – Turns 14 to 17 – of the circuit. For the ultimate view, cop a stay at either the Marina Bay View or Grand Ocean View room.

And if you’re in the mood for yummy grub, you can head to the hotel’s alfresco lounge – Bay@5. You’ll be promised a panoramic view of the city skylines, and maybe a glimpse of the race tracks.

The package includes daily breakfasts for 2 adults, and access to the outdoor swimming pool and fitness centre for a quick workout sesh. Certain rooms also grant you access to the Pacific Club Lounge where there’s a Champagne breakfast and evening cocktails.
If this isn’t your cup of tea, feel free to book an à la carte room. We’d recommend getting one that grants access to the Club Lounge – it’s facing the harbour, so you’ll have uninterrupted views of the race.
7. JW Marriott Singapore South Beach

Set along Turn 6 of the track is JW Marriott Singapore South Beach, where each room boasts high ceilings that are great for peering out and observing the race. 8. Marina Bay Sands
Packages with entry to f1 after-party at Marquee night club
Another iconic Singapore hotel would be Marina Bay Sands, and for good reason too. Aside from the endless shopping opportunities here, the Marina and Gardens view rooms also provide visibility of the racecourse. Experienced F1 fans have shared that rooms with balconies might give a better aerial view of the race.
If you’re willing to splurge on the Singapore Night Race packages, it’ll come with entry to the after-party at Marquee and brunch at LAVO.
There’s also the option of heading to the SkyPark Observation Deck, where the race track is not the only attraction you can feast your eyes on – there’s also the Supertree Grove and Gardens by The Bay to admire.
