Where to watch NDP 2026 fireworks for free
It’s not easy following the hype around Singapore’s Diamond Jubilee last year. However, NDP 2026 is definitely going to try, starting with the big festivities going back to the National Stadium at The Kallang for the first time in 10 years. The most important question on everyone’s mind during National Day though, would be: where can we watch the NDP 2026 fireworks for free?
Thankfully, we’ve got a list of spots prepared as the rehearsals begin and the previews are slated for the coming weeks.
Disclaimer: We’ve compiled a list of vantage points based on logical deductions. The situation may vary on the day itself.

What is the NDP 2026 fireworks schedule?
Before we get to the best spots, here are some details to take note of. Apart from the show on Sunday 9th August 2026, there are also a number of rehearsals and NDP previews that include fireworks too. The rehearsals are on 27th June and 4th July, while the previews are on 25th July and 1st August 2026.
Since we’ve only caught sight of one fireworks display so far during the first rehearsal, the exact fireworks timings are still to be confirmed. At the very least, you can expect some displays to light up the Kallang sky from 7.30pm onwards, with the finale fireworks going up around 8.30pm; you could also look out for the Singapore Flag being displayed on top of the National Stadium as the cue for the finale fireworks.
The fireworks will kick off at Kallang Basin and at the bay fronting Marina Bay Sands. If you’re in this area from the start of the parade, you might even catch glimpses of the NDP highlights such as the flag flypast.

For those who love to get in the thick of the action, Stadium Riverside Walk is where you want to be. This spot is right outside the National Stadium and Kallang Wave Mall, and will also sport the “Go Beyond” light-up display from 25th July to 9th August. Be warned that this spot will get crowded, and you might have to arrive early to secure a good vantage point.
Nearest MRT: Stadium MRT (CC6) and take Exit A.
2. Tanjong Rhu Promenade

Across the Kallang Basin lies Tanjong Rhu Promenade, which is one of the best spots to see both the National Stadium and the Marina Bay Skyline. During the rehearsal and preview days, you can expect this area to be packed – and more so on the actual National Day. If you can, grab a spot by the Tanjong Rhu suspension bridge for an overwater view.
Nearest MRT: Tanjong Rhu (TE23) and take Exit B.
3. Near Lookout Deck/Area 2 @ Kallang Basin

One of the lesser-known spots to watch fireworks for free in Kallang is the patch of grass near the Lookout Deck/Area 2 at Kallang Basin. While it might be unassuming, those in the know will be seated here with their picnic mats and lawn chairs. There’s even a public toilet nearby so you don’t have to do your business by the trees.
Nearest MRT: Nicoll Highway (CC9) and take Exit B towards Republic Ave.
4. Kallang Riverside Park

Another spot right along the Kallang River to catch the NDP 2026 fireworks for free is Kallang Riverside Park. Compared to the other spots, this park might be a bit more spacious, but it’s not as close to the action as the above spots and isn’t the easiest to get to. You
Nearest MRT: Lavender MRT (EW11) and take Exit A towards Crawford St.
5. Kallang Lawn Bowl
Open field near Kallang Sport Centre

It’s not just public parks that make for good fireworks viewing points. Kallang Lawn Bowl at Kallang Sport Centre will also let you see the NDP 2026 fireworks with less crowds, as it’s located further inland.
Nearest MRT: Stadium (CC6) and take Exit B towards Stadium Boulevard.
– Fireworks viewing spots near Marina Bay –
While the main fireworks display will be over Kallang Basin, there is a good chance that Marina Bay will also have a smaller but equally impressive fireworks display during the previews and on 9th August. We’ll keep this page updated when we get more information, but here are the best spots to catch the fireworks for free in Marina Bay.
6. Merlion Park @ Marina Bay

If you didn’t get a ticket to the party at The Padang this year, Merlion Park is your next best bet for the best views of the CBD fireworks. As you track across Jubilee Bridge, you should already see a crowd forming here from afar. Fair warning, it will be very crowded.
It faces the open field directly, from which the main fireworks will be popping, so you’ll get unobstructed views of not just the light-ups, but also the Marina Bay skyline.
Nearest MRT: Raffles Place (EW14)
7. Helix Bridge
NDP 2022.

Go for a romantic night stroll along the Helix Bridge with your bae as you wait for the fireworks to light up the sky. Popular amongst couples, this bridge connects Marina Centre to Marina South, which also means that views from the bridge consist of the CBD skyline and a sneak peek of The Padang in the distance.
The bridge itself is also an IG-worthy spot, so feel free to pose away before the grand finale at 8.15pm.
Nearest MRT: Bayfront (CC1/DT16) and Promenade (CC4)
8. Bay East Garden
Bay East Garden is another hotspot for free views. This 2km track leads all the way to East Coast Park, with lots of great vantage points along the way.

However, the best one by far, is its waterfront promenade – head to somewhere in the middle of the track directly opposite Gardens By The Bay, and you’ll get panoramic views of the fireworks above the Singapore Flyer and MBS.
Moreover, it’s open 24 hours, which means you can come early to chope the best spots and chill there after the spectacle. We reckon this spot will be more than crowded on D-day though.
Nearest MRT: Gardens by the Bay (TE22) and take Exit 1.
9. Marina Barrage

Marina Barrage is another famous alternative, especially amongst young families. Besides the picnic ground, which is filled with mats and snacks even on a typical weekend, it features a chill rooftop garden. Here, you can view basically the whole CBD on the horizon.
Nearest MRT: Gardens by the Bay (TE22) and take Exit 1.
10. The Lawn @ Marina Bay

What better way to view the fireworks than an open field in the heart of CBD? The Lawn @ Marina Bay is usually one of the less crowded spots, making this a relaxing spot for you to get cosy as you wait. Bring along a picnic mat, some snacks, and maybe a portable fan as you wait with hundreds of other revellers for the fireworks to come up.
Nearest MRT: Downtown (DT17)
11. Clifford Square
Located near Fullerton Hotel, Clifford Square is an event space with a neat view of MBS and ArtScience Museum, which also means you’ll definitely be able to see the fireworks from here.
It won’t be as crowded as the other spots since most people who come here to catch the fireworks would probably be sitting in the restaurants nearby. If you’re not going to be loitering and are okay with standing, feel free to make this your firework-viewing spot.
Nearest MRT: Raffles Place (EW14)
12. The Promontory @ Marina Bay

The Promontory is just next to Fullerton Bay Hotel and faces the Floating Platform Grandstand.
Just outside the Marina Bay Financial Centre is The Promontory @ Marina Bay, a large space that has hosted events like i Light 2026. It faces Marina Bay directly and the Kallang sky is located just right behind the hotels in the distance, so it should be a good spot to capture some great shots of the fireworks and the city skyline at once.
Nearest MRT: Downtown (DT17)
13. Waterfront Promenade at the Esplanade

If you’re keying this destination into your Maps app, don’t mistake the Waterfront Promenade at the Esplanade with the similarly named one at Marina Bay. This one is right in front of the Esplanade, next to the parade square where the action is taking place.
It’s a wide open space, but we predict it will draw quite a crowd especially during the preview and actual NDP dates. We suggest coming early so you can get a spot right at the guardrail, where you could easily park your bum while waiting for the show to start.
Nearest MRT: Esplanade (CC3)
14. Marina Square rooftop

Trust us, the Marina Square rooftop is one spot we intended to gatekeep. The lesser-known space doesn’t attract much of a crowd, and garners unblocked views of the fireworks over Marina Bay and the State Flag Flypast.
For info on how to get to this secret spot, read more about the Marina Square rooftop.
Nearest MRT: Esplanade (CC3) and Promenade (CC4)
15. Boat Quay

If it’s just the fireworks you want to watch, then head to Boat Quay, which faces the Padang from across the Singapore River. There’s quite a long, walkable stretch here with plenty of space for people to gather around. This place is also well-known for its riverfront bars and restaurants. Book an al fresco table for dinner and you can end off your night with some fireworks.
Nearest MRT: Raffles Place (EW14) and Clarke Quay (NE5)
