Seri Alam Blue Lake – Nature spot near JB

If you’re a nature lover who craves an active and thrilling weekend adventure, a hiking expedition might just be what you need. Beyond Singapore’s nature trails, there are various hiking spots in Malaysia you can explore too.

If you’re compiling a list of things to do near the causeway and you plan to spend some time in the vicinity, here’s another gem to add to your collection. Just a 30-minute car ride away from JB customs is Bandar Seri Alam, where the picturesque Seri Alam Blue Lake awaits you at the end of your journey.

Access the trail via Seri Alam Jungle Park

After crossing the border, hop onto a cab to Seri Alam Jungle Park, a 30-minute drive from Woodlands Checkpoint.

From the entrance of Seri Alam Jungle Park, it’s a 2-hour walk to the lake – so make sure you’ve set aside enough time to complete the entire hike before the sun sets.

The route to the blue lake can be a tad tricky, mainly because there aren’t signs around to guide you in the right direction. But Google Maps, AKA your modern-day treasure map, can help make sure you’re on the right track. Simply enter “Tasik 3 Beradik” or “Blue Lagoon Seri Alam” and your digital compass will help guide you to your destination.

Be prepared for some uphill climbs as you navigate through the trail. The path can be quite slippery, especially if it rained the day before.

The trail isn’t an ordinary stroll among trees and bushes. You’ll be walking through Seri Alam Tunnel. This is an experience in itself as it’s a pathway created by intertwining trees, resembling a mystical cave. It also serves as a spot to seek shelter from the blazing sun if you find yourself melting during the hike.

You know what they say – pics or it didn’t happen. When you finally arrive at the breathtaking viewpoint overlooking Seri Alam Blue Lake, go all out with capturing the beauty around you. Some claim that the lake appears more green than blue; we’ll leave it up to you to be the judge of that.

The trail to Seri Alam Blue Lake is beginner-friendly, so even if you’re no hiking guru, this hike is worth a shot. Besides, the breathtaking view that awaits you at the end will make all the hard work worthwhile.

We recommend going there early as it can get really warm by late morning. Whatever time you decide to go, remember to lather on some sunscreen to protect your skin from the sun’s rays. Bringing along mosquito repellent is also important to ward off those pesky little critters. Now, off you go on your adventure.
