Old Habits Cafe at SAFRA Mount Faber
It’s no secret that everything vintage is in trend. We’re all suckers for a little bit of nostalgia and the 80s aesthetic is both captivating and, ironically enough, perfect for our 21st century IG feeds.
If you’re looking for a retro photo spot, then Old Habits Cafe at SAFRA Mount Faber is a good location to add to your cafe hopping list. Here’s what to expect at when you head there.
Floor-to-ceiling retro decor
The minute you step into the cafe, you’ll be greeted by tons of old-school items that you’ve likely not seen in centuries, or maybe even your entire lifetime.

Things you can look forward to seeing include everything from random old toys to sign boards and vinyls. Fans of old movies can try spotting figurines of iconic characters, like Yoda and C-3PO from Star Wars.
There are even displays of Happy Meal toys from way back in the day, so you can really take a trip down memory lane. Who knows, maybe you even used to own some of them.

Plus, travel back to the time of unbreakable flip phones – no, we’re not talking about the new Samsung Z flips – and Nokia cells. If you used to carry these trusty gadgets around, this will be a real memory jerker.
Pose for pics at curated photo spots
While the entire cafe is pretty much one big photo spot, there are little nooks that make for particularly nice camera backdrops.

For instance, pose with a telephone behind this transparent bar counter table. The huge sign board, snacks and toys resemble something of an old-school mama shop.

Fans of the classics can also take pictures with their idols from the era at this gorgeous vinyl wall.
Feast on quirky fusion food
Whether you feel like eating something more Asian or Western, there are pretty unique menu pairings to try out at Old Habits Cafe.
Clam Vongole Spaghetti ($9.90).

Otherwise, other food options include dishes like a Wagyu Beef Rice Bowl ($18.90), Smoked Duck Bigrade ($19.50), and Sambal Chicken Burger ($15.90).
The Old Habits Float ($7.90) is made with Kickapoo, Angostura Bitters and Rum & Raisin Ice Cream.

Before you step back to our modern reality, try out desserts like the Old Habits Coconut Kueh ($9.90), and beverages like the Old Habits Float ($7.90), a drink that may taste oddly nostalgic for those who used to drink Kickapoo on the regular.
Step back to the past at Old Habits Cafe
If you’re an 80s or 90s kid who seriously wants a ticket back to the past, Old Habits Cafe will be a temporary time travel solution for you. Parents can also take their kiddos down for a somewhat educational experience to finally show them “how things were done back in the day”.
