Kranji Sanctuary Resort

There may be plenty of affordable hotels in Singapore for a staycation, but a farm stay experience is a rarity. If a staycation surrounded by nature is what you want, check yourself into Kranji Sanctuary Resort. It’s a newly renovated hotel tucked away in a quiet corner of Neo Tiew Lane.

Located just next to Kranji Marshes, this resort gives off Bali vibes. It’s a good place to detach yourself from the city without saying adios to your bank balance.

What to know before going to Kranji Sanctuary Resort

Kranji Sanctuary Resort may have a “farmstay” concept, but it has all the amenities of a modern chalet. The rooms here are air-conditioned and come with an en-suite bathroom, free WiFi access, and a mini-bar. Each room also gets 1 complimentary vehicle parking lot.

The check-in time is at 2pm, while check-out time is before 11am. Late checkouts are possible and are subject to availability. Otherwise, extra charges will be incurred.

Should you want to have your own BBQ, there’s no need to run to the nearest NTUC. Kranji Sanctuary Resort offers a BBQ package at $50 and it covers 1 packet of 3kg charcoal, 1 wire mesh, 1 set of fire starters, and the BBQ pit. Know that all guests will have to leave by 11pm, and you should be mindful of noise levels.

If you can’t bear to leave your doggo or kitty at home, you’ll be glad to know that pets are allowed. Do note that you’ll be held responsible in the event any damage is caused to the property or furnishings.

Whether you’re going solo or bringing the gang back together for that long-awaited uni reunion, you’re bound to find a suitable accommodation type at Kranji Sanctuary Resort. There are 4 kinds of rooms available: standard ($160/night), superior ($200/night), executive ($270/night) and family room ($320/night).

If you’re the kind of person who enjoys showering in Mother Nature, you’ll be glad to know that both the superior and executive rooms have an outdoor bathtub. The executive room, however, comes equipped with a steam room, rain shower, and jacuzzi.

Plus, the latter can occupy 4 adults and a child – with an additional convertible sofa instead of just a queen-size bed.

Kranji Sanctuary Resort may be in an ulu location, but there are so many activities you can take part in both onsite and offsite. For starters, you can go prawning anytime at their pond within the resort starting from just $9.99/hour. The longer you go, it gets cheaper at $15.99 for 2 hours and $19.99 for 3 hours. Karaoke is also available at Kranji Farm Resort from 3pm-3am daily. Rates are $11.99/hour from 3pm-7pm from Mondays to Thursdays and $19.99/hour from 7pm-3am from Mondays to Thursdays and 3pm-3am from Fridays to Sundays.

If you felt like those Sec 4 Geography lessons didn’t give you enough hands-on experience, here’s your chance. There are farms nearby such as Hay Dairies and Bollywood Farms, which will provide guided farm tours to help blur sotongs like you and I learn how our local food is produced. You’ll also be briefed on the way livestock are raised, as well as the agricultural practices.
