22 Futsal Courts In Singapore, Sorted According To Location & Price, Including Free Spots

Futsal courts in Singapore

Fans of football or soccer will be familiar with a modified version of the sport that is played by adults and kids alike. We’re talking about futsal, of course – a fun team game that can easily be played with just a handful of players, not requiring the full team of 11 on each side.

Even if you don’t play, you may have passed by a futsal court now and then and thought about taking up the sport. Well, we’re here to tell you all you need to know about futsal courts in Singapore – which ones are free and which ones require bookings – so you can unleash your inner Cristiano Ronaldo.

What’s the difference between a futsal court & football field?

Although you can play football at a futsal court, these courts serve different purposes. A football field is the huge one you see during the World Cup season that can fit 11-a-side per team. Football fields are most commonly covered in natural or artificial grass. A futsal court, on the other hand, is covered in parquet or synthetic material. Because of that, it provides more friction than natural grass.

Due to Singapore’s smol size though, people also play football in futsal courts that are covered in grass, so the terms “futsal” and “football” are often used interchangeably.

What you need to know before booking a futsal court in Singapore

Most futsal courts are a standard 5-a-side pitch, but if there are more people, a slightly bigger pitch that can accommodate 6 or even a 7-a-side would be booked. Otherwise, you can also check out these multi-purpose free open fields in Singapore.

Prices for booking a futsal court depend on a few factors:

  • Whether you have booked a peak-hour or non-peak-hour slot
  • If you have a membership at certain clubs or community centres
  • Length of time you’re booking the court for

Each booking is usually 2 hours long. However, some courts do offer hourly bookings.

Since the synthetic turf used for futsal courts has more friction than natural grass, don’t go around slide tackling unless you want to walk away with some nasty cuts. Something else you’d need is your own futsal ball – you can get affordable ones that range from $10 on Shopee, such as the Mitre Deltamax Football or Ferrari Metallic Soccer Ball.

Free public futsal courts

This is a list of all public street futsal courts when you just wanna have a casual kickabout with your kakis. Just remember to be mindful of noise levels to avoid disturbing residents. Most courts will turn off the lights at 8.30pm to signal that the courts are closed.

Since they are public futsal courts, it is common for strangers to pop by and join the game, so if the court is full, simply take turns using the court.

1. Ang Mo Kio Block 434

You may have seen this colourful futsal court on Instagram. It’s located between blocks 434 and 437 Ang Mo Kio Avenue 10 and is the lovechild of a partnership between gaming giants EA Sports, La Liga, and local street artist Tobyato to encourage grassroots football.

If you look at the court from the birds-eye POV, it features a slick design of motifs that form the outline of a dragon.

Address: Ang Mo Kio Avenue 10, Block 434, Singapore, 560436

2. Jalan Rajah Street Soccer Court

Address: 44A Beo Crescent, Singapore 162044

4. Petir Street Soccer Court

Address: 219 Petir Road, Singapore 670219

Woodlands Block 582’s court is long and narrow, with gates fenced up high to prevent the ball from flying out. This makes it ideal to practise long shots. It’s also installed with a sound dampening fencing system, preventing residents on the other side from being disturbed.

Address: Woodlands Block 852, Singapore 730852

6. Block 30 New Upper Changi Road

If you’re looking to play footy on grass for free, visit Teban Gardens Street Soccer Court. Renovated earlier this year, it is one of 2 futsal courts that uses artificial grass instead of a hard court. Although the fence is visibly lower, there’s an overhead netting system in place so the ball doesn’t hit nearby residents.

Address: Teban Neighbourhood Park, Teban Gardens Road

9. Senja Woods Futsal Court

Senja Woods Futsal Court is another rare public court with grass. It’s slightly bigger than Teban Gardens, but doesn’t have an overhead net so don’t anyhow whack the ball sky high.

Address: Block 639 Senja Close, Singapore 670639
