– Free basketball courts –

You’ve probably seen these public basketball courts peppered around Singapore. They’re mostly found in the vicinity of residential areas such as HDB flats. They’re free for all to use, whether you’re the next Steph Curry, or a novice looking for a fun way to burn extra calories.

However, because they essentially run on a first-come-first-serve basis, you might have to share a court with strangers. Do chat them up and see if they’re cool with taking turns to use the court. Who knows, you might find more basketball kakis to call on when you’re short on people.

Keep in mind that the lights for public basketball courts turn off around 9.30pm-10pm, indicating that the court is closed for the day. On another note, if you find that your neighbourhood’s basketball court requires some TLC, you can report any broken rims and errant potholes via the OneService app.
