11 Best Airlines For Cheap Flights To Japan From SG, Including Budget & Full-Service Carriers

Guide to cheap airline flights to Japan

It’s no secret that Singaporeans absolutely adore flocking to Japan, whether it’s hitting up Super Nintendo World or roaming the bustling streets of Shibuya. With Japan as your chosen destination, the next step would be securing your flight tickets.

Now we can’t speak for everyone, but we try to use hacks to fly cheap in favour of spending more while we’re there. To help you out, we’ve rounded up some of the cheapest airline flights from Singapore to Japan.

Note: Airfare indicated are based on one-way trip bookings for mid-March 2026. Prices are accurate at the time of writing, and may be subject to change.

When is the best time to fly to Japan?

September to November are Japan’s peak periods for tourists. The holiday season means you not only have to contend with inflated airfare, but also with crowds at popular tourist destinations as well.

Not only will you get cheaper fares during January to March, you’ll also get to experience colder climates and snowy mountains, like the
Tateyama Kurobe Alpine.

For those planning to head to Japan this year, note that Spring is the peak season for Japan – typically between March and May.

If you want to catch the Cherry Blossoms, the forecast for the 2026 flowering is from 20th March to late-April. Return flights during this period float around $455-$520, which is not too costly provided that you book them now in January.

Statistically, the cheapest month for Japan-bound travel is mid-January to February, as this period comes right after the New Year holiday rush. Mid-May to early June is another travel window to gun for when it comes to budget-friendly trips to Japan, as it avoids the country’s Golden Week.

So now that we’ve established which months are “off-peak” to travel, here are the best airlines for Singaporeans looking to score cheap flights to Japan:
