In case you haven’t heard the news, Jetstar Asia is officially grounding its fleet come 31st July 2025. And with that, 4 exclusive routes out of Singapore – Broome, Labuan Bajo, Okinawa, and Wuxi – are disappearing too. Of course, jetsetters are asking: “huh, then how?”
But do not despair. Scoot has just announced it’ll be launching new direct flights to Okinawa and Labuan Bajo, the gateway to Komodo National Park. Here’s all you need to know:

If your holiday plans were derailed by Jetstar Asia’s sudden closure, especially for trips after 31st July, you’re not alone. But don’t stash away your dive gear just yet.

Scoot will be launching up to 4 weekly flights to Okinawa and 2 weekly flights to Labuan Bajo, kicking off during the northern winter season from 26th October 2025 to 28th March 2026.

That’s not all – daily flights to Medan are also in the pipeline. While exact schedules haven’t been confirmed, they’ll be announced soon, so keep your eyes peeled. And there’s no harm bookmarking some Labuan Bajo resorts first… for erm, research purposes.
Jetstar’s exit might leave a gap, but frequent fliers don’t have to worry as Scoot and Singapore Airlines (SIA) are already stepping in to fill it. Besides the new routes to Okinawa, Labuan Bajo, and Medan, you’ll also see more flights to some of your favourite regional getaways.
Expect more frequent flights to Penang, Bangkok, Phuket and Clark, making last-minute weekend trips much easier. Scoot is also rolling out bigger planes for routes like Manila, so you won’t have to fight for overhead space.
Over in Indonesia, Jakarta and Bali will also see more flight options, with plans to add capacity to Surabaya and Colombo too. Translation: your year-end travel options are looking pretty stacked.
You know what they say, when one door closes, another opens. And while we’re sad to see Jetstar go, it’s not all bad news. We can still travel to our fave spots while stacking up KrisFlyer points, thanks to Scoot and SIA adding new and more frequent routes.
There’s no word yet on replacements for Broome and Wuxi, but fingers crossed we’ll see other affordable carriers take the lead. Yes, AirAsia – we’re looking at you. In the meantime, keep your travel tabs open and stay tuned for more flight announcements coming soon.
