8 Prettiest Pink Cafes & Restaurants In SG For Those Who Love Pink As Much As Barbie Does

Pink cafes & restaurants in Singapore

Barbie isn’t the only one obsessed with pink. It may have been cool to diss the soft pastel shade as a tomboy growing up, but it’s now one of my favourite colours. If you embrace pink too then this list is just for you. In the spirit of the Barbie movie opening in the theatres, here are pink cafes and restaurants in Singapore for those who love pink:

1. GIG Cafe – High tea sets at $28/pax

The first thing you’re going to notice about GIG Cafe are the pink flowers and plants that are hanging down from the ceiling. The second thing would probably be the matching interior and furniture that truly makes this place a Barbie wonderland.

If you ever had your dolls sit with you for high tea, you’ll be able to reminisce about your childhood playtime with GIG Cafe’s High Tea Set ($28/pax). You’ll get sweet and savoury bites served on a tiered platter. Pair these with their selection of flower teas ($6.90) that are served in pretty glass teapots.

If you’re holding back on letting your pink freak flag fly at full mast, step into Mr Holmes Bakehouse at Pacific Plaza instead. While the cafe is mostly white, you’ll find accents of Barbie pink splashed everywhere like at the front door and the neon sign wall that’s a must-have for the ‘Gram.

When you’re done with the snaps, head back inside for their specialties – brioche donuts (from $6.50 each) and cruffins (from $5.80 each). The first is a bombolini-style pastry filled with jellies and creams like PB&J or seasonal flavours like Bubbly Passion Fruit.

As for cruffins, you can probably guess from the name that they’re a cross between croissants and muffins. The flaky layers come in sweet and savoury flavours like Raspberry Cheesecake and Jalapeno Popper.

Barbie always has the best day ever, yesterday, tomorrow, and every day from now until forever. In the real world, that comes close at Planet Plus, a cafe at Scotts Square that could easily rival Barbie’s dream house. Enter and you’ll quickly see what we mean – you’re surrounded 360˚ in pink on the walls, floors, and ceiling.

Even the desserts here would be right up Barbie’s alley. Their top sellers are mousse cakes that come in quirky shapes, like the showstopping Bisky Fraise ($12.90), a strawberry and plum flavoured cake in the shape of a chunk of Swiss cheese. For Kens taking their Barbies out on a date, impress her with Seventh Heaven ($12.90), which has a pair of holding hands on a pink heart.

4. Knock Knock Cafe – Pet-friendly menu available

Here’s one place that Vet Barbie would surely approve of – Knock Knock Cafe. The pet-friendly cafe has a treats menu just for your 4-legged friends. But don’t think for a second that they’ll be getting a handful of kibble. Pet-owners can choose brunch items such as Salmon Chawanmushi ($9.90) and Chicken Rice ($12.90) that have been made specially to cater to dietary needs of furbabies.

The cafe isn’t just pet-friendly, it’s a whole vibe for pink lovers. Come in the day when the cafe is brightly lit, which accentuates the 2 IG-worthy feature walls – a pink floral wall and a donut wall that are made to be a backdrop for pink #OOTDs. Come night time, the cafe is just as chio when the pink neon lights flood the cafe’s interiors to make everything glow pink.

You’d think that only cafes with brunch fare or dessert would paint their walls pink for a trend, but get this: Beauty in the Pot’s KINEX outlet is completely washed in a sakura shade.

For an intimate girly gathering for all the Barbies in your life, book their private room which has individual pots and a grand chandelier hanging from the ceiling.

Of course, not forgetting the food – this outlet serves a decent range of soup bases, including quirkier varieties like Cooling Coconut, Longevity Wild Pine Mushroom, and Vitamin C Tomato Sweet Corn.

Just a heads up: the broth alone is priced from $6.50 for a quarter pot, and they also charge for the condiments ($2.99).

Hey Sugar’s interior is fairly simple but sweet, with potted plants and dangling bulbs on the ceiling that look like upsized fairy lights. But it’s the strawberries-and-cream colour scheme that’s the icing on the cake. Or, should we say, the sprinkles on the ice cream, since they serve ice cream and waffles as their specialty.

For the best bang for your buck, get their all-day set which includes a waffle with a single scoop of ice cream and ice brewed shaken tea at just $11.50.

If you love all hues of pink as much as Barbara Millicent Roberts, or Barbie, does, Prairie By Craftsmen at River Valley is a must-visit on your next cafe hopping adventure.

As expected, the coffee and brunch are the stars of the show here, with hot Long Blacks for $5 and a Big Breakfasts with the usual suspects like sourdough bread, pork sausage and sauteed mushrooms for $22. Jazz it up with your BFF with wine, spirit and cocktails from $10 to end off a long week.

(Closed) A Juicery

Stay in the pink of health with A Juicery’s fresh cold-pressed juices (from $9), made by pushing fruits and vegetables through a hydraulic press instead of a blender. This method helps the juice retain its nutrients better, which means more vitamins packed into your cup.

Each flavour is said to possess a different health benefit – the hydrating Kale Me Maybe (kai lan, cucumber, cabbage, watercress, lemon, coconut water) is a good hangover cure, while Marmalade Skies (carrot, lime, mint, orange, pineapple) fights cholesterol and relieves stress.

To fit the menu of tropical fruity beverages is lively tropical-themed decor. You’ll see flamingo props and cactus illustrations throughout, against a backdrop of pink tiles.

Unfortunately for working folk, A Juicery doesn’t open during the weekends, and closes by 5PM on weekdays. So set multiple alarms, and rise a little earlier to pop by before work for a morning perk-me-up.

(Closed) Lumine Cafe

Lumine is a Japanese department store with stylish fashion picks and lifestyle products like perfume, accessories, and artisanal tea. Tucked in a corner is their very own Lumine Cafe, which you can rest your feet at after a round of shopping.

While it’s not full-on pink, it’s got a blush feature wall and comfy plush chairs to match, complemented by sleek rose gold ceiling lamps. Charging ports are available, so you can tap away on your phone or laptop without worrying about battery life.

Get refreshed with a yogurt Fruit Parfait (from $12.90) or Honey Latte ($6.90), and pair it with a Mille Crepe Cake to fuel yourself up for even more shopping ahead.

(Closed) A Summer in Paris

Transport yourself to the City of Love with A Summer in Paris, a French patisserie by award-winning chef Yann Brys. Exuding Parisian chic through and through, this pretty little joint has cascading flowers and avant garde portraits as part of its decor – a perfect blend of elegance and edginess.

Desserts here are delicately crafted, with the apple-shaped Pompom ($9.30) being the most eye-catching. Cut through the green apple cream dome to reveal inner layers of green apple jelly, pistachio tea cake, and a citrus shortbread base.

If you prefer tarts over cake, go for the Tourbillon Lemon Tart ($8.80), a lemon meringue, or the Louise ($9.30), a piquant mix of almond cream, grapefruit curd, and raspberries.

(Closed) Cotton Dreams

We all grew up sipping on flavoured milk tea from neighbourhood bubble tea shops, but now that we’re big boys and girls, it’s time for an upgraded version: vodka-infused bubble tea. Yes, this exists in Singapore, and you can get it at Cotton Dreams, a dreamy candy-coloured beverage kiosk at *SCAPE.

The alcoholic bubble tea comes in 4 variants: Lychee, Red Apple, Passionfruit, and Cranberry ($11.90 each). Teetotalers can opt for their regular Milk Teas (from $3.50) in flavors like Honey, Coconut, and Vanilla, and top it off with a cloud of cotton candy.

For something less thick, sip on the floral goodness of their Flower Teas ($4.20) – the delicate petals floating about make the drinks extra pretty.

(Closed) Once Upon A Time Cafe & Boutique

Okay, so Once Upon A Time Cafe & Boutique is not in Singapore, but it’s too pretty to not include. The good news is that it’s just a hop, skip, and jump across the border in Johor Bahru, so you can easily pop by during a day trip with your posse.

You’ll spot it from afar – this cafe lies within a pink house with black accents, what we’d imagine Barbie’s dollhouse to look like in real life. Inside is a paradise for the ultimate girly girl, with neon pink lights, pink furniture, and a little vanity corner for you to primp at before taking a barrage of selfies.

Mains here are affordably priced from RM15 to RM21 (~S$5 to S$7), with choices like pizza, pasta, and sandwiches. For a light snack, go for the cakes at RM10/slice (~S$3.30).

Pink eateries in Singapore

Perhaps minimalism is the new cafe trend, but if you’d prefer to have some colour in your life instead of jumping on the B&W bandwagon, pastel pink is the way to go – it’s not overly flashy, but still brings a playful and feminine vibe. Like my idol Barbie likes to say: Think pink!
