Garden of Lights – Sanrio-themed light-ups at VivoCity
VivoCity’s Skypark has always been one of the most scenic rooftops in Singapore. This Mid-Autumn Festival, it’ll get a literal glow-up as it transforms into a garden wonderland with Sanrio characters we all know and love. Called Garden of Lights, it’ll provide you plenty of photo ops for your Instagram feed.
The installation lights up from 6.30pm daily – which makes for a perfect after-work activity with the fam if you want to get away from the crowds. Or better yet, head there even before sunset as the exhibit is open to the public from 10am-10pm every day from 31st August to 1st October 2023. The best part is that it’s free admission. Here’s a sneak peek of what you can expect.

If you’ve been wanting fresh new photo backdrops for yourself or the kiddos, this is it. They’ll love posing next to 9 of their favourite Sanrio characters – like Gudetama, My Melody, Kuromi, and Badtz-Maru – throughout Garden of Lights.

Entering the area, you’ll spot a gorgeous flower bed that takes the form of everyone’s favourite feline, Hello Kitty herself. Snap a family portrait next to it for the mems.

The Sanrio Characters Enchanting Garden has an adorable larger-than-life watering can that “waters” the magical garden, bringing it to life as it lights up at night. Sprinkle sprinkle.

Besides standing photo spots, there’s a dedicated bench that looks like a swing for your wholesome photos with kids or your special person. Just be prepared for a queue during busy periods like the weekends.

There’s also a Hello Kitty Garden Maze with a massive – and we mean 7m-tall – Hello Kitty towering above it. Truly main character energy. Plus, you also get views of Sentosa in the background.
50m-long illuminated tunnel bridge

You’ll probably see this on your Instagram feeds for the next month. There’s a 50m-long illuminated tunnel bridge that would make a lit photo spot with gorgeous backdrops from all angles. Walk through the bridge and you’ll see beloved Sanrio characters like Hello Kitty, My Melody, and Little Twin Stars. We think the Sanrio Characters Friendship Bridge is going to be one of the most popular spots at Garden of Lights.

If you’re there with the kiddos, they’ll love running around playing hide and seek in between the 18 different arches.

The Skygarden isn’t the only place you can spot your favourite characters. They’re taking over the whole mall, starting with a pop-up retail area on Level 1 where you can shop for plushies, kitchenware, stationery, and even Hello Kitty-themed keyboards. In addition, even Fairprice Finest will have a Sanrio Water Theme Park pop-up that will open at a later date.

So if the kids love seeing these beloved characters, you know where to take them.
