Skatepark @ Lakeside Garden

So, you’ve conquered all of the skateparks in Singapore and are on the hunt for new challenges.

If that sounds like you, then right this way to Skatepark @ Lakeside Garden. With 5 skate pods, a parkour zone, and a 3m-tall bouldering wall, this new kid on the block at Lakeside Garden is likely to become the go-to spot for both athletes and those who’d like to dabble in the art of skateboarding, parkour, and rock climbing.

5 skate pods for all skate levels

Opened on 1st April, Skatepark @ Lakeside Garden bills itself as Singapore’s biggest skatepark. And when you see its 17,000sqm space, you’ll understand why. There are 5 skate pods ranging from easy to advanced levels that are meant for both beginners and pros.

If you’ve just gotten the hang of skateboarding, head to the Learn To Skate Pod for beginner-friendly terrain that’s flatter and less intimidating. Those looking for slightly steeper slopes and ramps should check out the Skate Drain Pod and Mini Bowl Pod. Just make sure you practise on the pump track to familiarise yourself with the bumps and sharp turns.

For a serious thrash zone with massive walls, snaking bowls, and copious drops and stairs, make your way to the Big Bowl Pod. Even if you’re not a skilled skater, you’ll want to find a perch above it to watch the pros flip and swerve.

On top of that, there’s even a sheltered Plaza Pod with mini ramps, half pipes, and skate structures for when it rains.

Parkour park & bouldering wall

The skatepark also includes a parkour park and bouldering wall if those are more your things.

Comes complete with bars, obstacles, and a 3m-tall rock wall, the entire area looks like an action movie set where you can show off side flips, cat jumps, and wall scales.

And, should you tire of these extreme sports, take a break on the Lakeside Green lawn that overlooks Jurong Lake. Or grab a bite and browse the selection of skateboards at The Ride Side Cafe. There’s also a Starbucks at the Lakeside House nearby in case your frappuccino craving hits.
