Our Tampines Hub Has Carnival Games & Rides, Plus Giant Inflatable Artworks For The June Holidays

Our Tampines Hub’s Dear Tampines festival

We witnessed a gigantic tardigrade, lots of squiggly inflatables, and plenty of family fun just last year during Our Tampines Hub’s 2022 carnivals. And good news for Easties, everything you loved about that carnival experience is coming back to the hub’s Town Square – perhaps with even more fun for both families and folks looking for things to do.

Happening from 27th May to 7th June 2023, the festival titled Dear Tampines is about to make your weekends and your kids’ school holidays lit. They haven’t revealed too much just yet, but here’s a peek into what you can expect:

Giant inflatable artworks & kid-friendly activities

Both artsy and active folks are going to have a field day here.

Enter the Town Square area and you’lll immediately notice 8 massive inflatable artworks. Be sure to take a moment to appreciate each one – we hear they were created out of a collab involving some 900 kids, so rest assured your own little one will be able to resonate with them.

That’s not all – look out for kid-friendly workshops, fairground rides such as bumper cars, and even some virtual reality games. Bring a spare change of clothes and towels as well, because you might be tempted to jump into the Squirt Gun Battleground, which pretty much speaks for itself.

For those who have lots of energy to expel, turn your attention to activities such as Zumba, Yoga, and Dancefit. No harm burning a few calories and bonding with fellow community members while your kids go and conquer the obstacle courses and soccer field games happening concurrently.

Live jazz music on Saturdays

What’s a festival without live music? Over the next 2 Saturdays, you can catch live jazz performances for free at the Dear Tampines festival.

Jeremy Monteiro performing at the Esplanade with guitarist Paul Ponnudorai.

Just mark your calendar for 27th May and 3rd June at 5pm. Those who’ve been following the local jazz scene will find familiar names headlining the festival, such as Jeremy Monteiro, Dawn Wong, Jacinta Abisheganaden, and the Singapore Wind Symphony City Swing band.

Carnival booths with a carousel & games at Festive Walk

While you’re at the festival, don’t forget to head towards Our Tampines Hub’s Festive Walk for a mini carnival. The kids will be delighted at the bright colours and lights, and we’re not even shy to admit that us adults love it too. So first things first – you’ll want to scour the carnival booths that are set up all the way till 4th June to let loose and even win some prizes.

The star of the show? Obviously the 2-tier carousel. Every kid with the heart of a princess or price will no doubt feel right at home as the carousel has gone full traditional. We’re talking horses clad in royal dressings, and Cinderella-worthy carriages.

There are also arcade games for the young ones to play. But the real fun is at the row of carnival game booths. As much as we love our electronic games, it’s a whole other feeling of satisfaction when you can show off your skills and cop some prizes while you’re at it. Be sure to try winning a big teddy for your bae or little one.

To participate, simply head over to the ticketing booth at the area.
