New Year’s Eve is fast approaching.

Like a tigress crouching waiting to pounce on you as you happily read Stomp on your mobile (you deserve it dude), before we knew it, New Year’s Eve has arrived.

I have a firm belief that how you spend the last minute of a day (11:59 PM) will carry over to how you spend the the next day (12:01 AM)… and next year.

So you better spend your last minutes of 2013 right. Whether the year has been good or bad, kind or unkind, all that will be forgotten in the final minute as the clock strikes 12. A new year will be ushered in, full of happiness, hope and what you did in that last minute of the old year.

1. Celebrate TV50

A Mediacorp hosted celebration, this promises many of your favourite local celebrities from Gurmit Singh to Zoe Tay, up close and personal! There will be a line-up of international performances (THE WANTED AND LEE HOM HELLO) and even DJ Inquisitive on the deck.

2. Siloso Beach Party

Need I say more? Celebrate the last few minutes of 2013 on the same beach that graced the Zoukout 2013 just weeks ago. Come get yourself splashed in paint and be festive in the haze of the drunken hour and the happy waves. I expect many, many hot surfers and surfettes. Be one of them!

3. Celebrate With The World

Ah free entry – my kind of home gurl, or in this event, home event. This event is jam-packed with Singapore and Malaysia celebrities, belting out songs and plays especially for their folks. The night that follows with be filled with tunes from both local and internationals artistes.

4. The Ultimate Deck Party

Is there a better day to say bye to 2013 to? You are 57 storeys above ground with a perfect view of both the stars and the fireworks throughout Singapore. There is live entertainment and a complimentary toast at midnight with photo keepsakes.

5.*SCAPE Collision 2014: Supernova Bash

Hosted by radio DJs, this event almost feels like an underground, indie event. With lots of activities for youths by youths, I expect an adrenaline-pumped event with young tracks and lots of dancing. Not a night for the faint-hearted!

6. The Royal Ball

There is not much about Ku De Ta I know except that it is a very closed-doors club. So all I can tell you is this little snippet – you are here to party like kings and queens and the most magnificently dressed of the night will walk away with a bottle.

7. Carnivale

1-Altitude is one of the most beautiful bars in Singapore. It towers over the Marina Bay Sands and probably makes it laugh. I have been there once and I already can’t wait to be back. They promise a carnival party (so very Gatsby) and I think I’m waiting to be surprised for more.

No not home club, though that’s not a bad choice. Remember, home it even has their own stand-up comedy nights!

Home here refers to a place where you will already be on the vip guestlist and have unlimited drinks. Play the music you love – you are your own DJ after all – and be with the people you love. We have always traded up spending this precious day with our family for a night out but is it really worth it?

This year, DJ Coco (I suck at aliases) will be hyping it up at her humble home in Clementi, where she will finally spend the last minutes of 2013 with the people she love the most after an almost 4-year hiatus of not doing so.
