You won’t need to squint to spot some of the Mandai Wildlife Reserve’s residents – just look out for the giant animal inflatables dotted around the parks. These larger-than-life cuties feature locally born stars like the pygmy hippos, capybaras, and gentoo penguins.

Kids will have a field day posing with their favourite animals in XXL form, and TBH, the adults will probably want in on the fun too.

The inflatables will be up till 31st August 2025, and you can find them at the Pavilion by the Lake in Singapore Zoo, the Panda Courtyard in River Wonders, and at the Mandai Wildlife WEST Event Lawn.

Yes, these animals have their own ICs, because they live in Singapore too. Pick up the ICs at the Singapore Zoo and River Wonders entrances. Terms and conditions apply.

Mandai Wildlife Reserve has also rolled out Hello from the Wild, a fresh line-up of animal encounters. These 20-minute sessions let you get up close with the animals, all while learning cool facts and quirky behaviours from the trainers themselves.

At Singapore Zoo, you’ll get to meet cheeky fennec foxes and hide superworms under pebbles for them to sniff out.

Those visiting River Wonders can look forward to meeting capybaras, the chillest creatures on the block. For $42.40/person, you’ll not only learn more about these gentle giants, but also get to feed them.

And for those Night Safari fans, hang tight – a Hello from the Wild session featuring the wallaby will be launching later this year, so there’s something for everyone, even after sunset.

Backstage Pass: Penguin Encounters

If you’ve ever dreamt of meeting penguins up close – not just through a glass panel – Bird Paradise is offering a Backstage Pass: Penguin Encounters experience from $94.72/person.

You’ll get to step inside Penguin Cove and get a BTS look at what goes into their daily care, like how their meals are prepped and how keepers keep them healthy and happy. But the highlight is definitely the meet-and-greet with these feathered waddlers.

And come 18th July 2025, there’ll be even more reason to waddle over. A new VR film will be launching at Ocean Network Express Penguin Cove, giving you an immersive peek into the world of penguins.
