The Search for Bruiser Woods – Legally Blonde musical in Singapore
Legally Blonde: The Musical is strutting into Singapore from 29th July 2026, starring West End talent Nathania Ong. But before Elle Woods makes her grand entrance, there’s already a casting call stealing the spotlight.
The Singapore Repertory Theatre (SRT) is on The Search for Bruiser Woods, so if your pup has main character energy or just an impressive ability to sit pretty on command, they might just be heading for the stage.
Who is SRT looking for?

SRT is looking to cast 2 very special 4-legged stars for the production.
First up is Bruiser Woods. They’re searching for a blonde, short-haired toy-sized dog who is comfortable being carried onstage and staying calm amid lights, music, and performers. Nope, your pup doesn’t have to be a Chihuahua, but it stands a higher chance if it’s happy chilling in a dog bag and responds to cues in exchange for treats.

Then there’s Rufus – this role is for a larger dog with a BIG personality. It should be friendly, relaxed, happy to walk onstage on a lead, and totally fine soaking up attention from both the cast and the crowd.
What’s the criteria?

There are a few must-haves before your pup officially enters its star era:
- It should be well-socialised and comfortable in busy environments
- It must respond well to handlers and basic commands
- It enjoys attention
- It can attend rehearsals and performances
Just in case you’re wondering, pups don’t need prior stage experience – all they have to do is be confident, just like Elle Woods.
How to take part in the audition?

Head down to The Proud Pet Parade, held in collaboration with Pasar Pink by Pink Fest, on 6th June 2026 at 2.30pm. The audition will take place at New Bahru’s School Hall.
At the time of writing, registration is already closed thanks to overwhelming interest, but if you still think your dog really has what it takes, you can join the waitlist by dropping an email to hi@moxiecommunications.com.sg. No harm trying – if the team doesn’t find the right fit, they may reach out to someone on the waiting list.
Nathania Ong, who’s playing Elle Woods, will also be on the judging panel along with Singaporean artist Jean Seizure.

It’s not just bragging rights on the line – participants will also stand a chance to win tickets to Legally Blonde: The Musical, so even if your pup doesn’t land their big stage debut, at least you might still get to watch Elle Woods work her magic from the audience.
