Sentosa Has A Space-Themed Underground Go-kart Circuit That’s Outta This World

KF1 Karting Circuit at RWS

If there’s anything video games like Daytona, GTA and Mario Kart have taught us, it’s that flooring the pedal is pretty darn shiok. For all those who could do with a bit of adrenaline and excitement in their lives, Sentosa’s underground go-karting circuit has returned, this time with an outer space theme.

Feel the rush and the track whizzing by SuperKarts Underground happening until 31st March 2023 only.

Singapore’s weather changes like the wind; it can be swelteringly hot one minute and turn into a chilly downpour the next. But come rain or shine, you’ll be able to enjoy a visit here as SuperKarts Underground is a fully-indoor circuit, located underground in the RWS carpark.

Previously known as Circuit Tiki, which rocked a Hawaiian theme back in 2021, the pop-up has returned to Sentosa with a revamped space theme featuring “floating” planet orbs and spaceships.

A collaboration between KF1 Karting Circuit and RWS, the 450M-long track features 16 turns to zip through as quickly as possible. True Mario Kart masters will know that in order to get the best lap time, you’ll have to memorise the track map, so here’s a copy to refer to before you head down.

Go up to speeds of 40KM/H

Circuit Tiki in 2021.

There are two modes here to try: Novice takes you up to speeds of 25km/h and is open to both folks with or without a drivers license. But if you’re armed with your swanky green license card, try the Advanced vehicle instead, which comes equipped with an engine that can accelerate you up to a zoomin’ 40km/h.

Prices for each session are as follows:

  • Novice – $22 for RWS members | $28 for public
  • Advanced – $28 for RWS members | $35 for public

Channel your inner Lewis Hamilton and max out the speed – there’s no need to keep looking at your watch as the staff will light up the red lamps scattered around the track to let you know when your time is almost up.

Pro-tip: Unlike asphalt roads, the floor here is slightly more slippery, so you’ll want to be careful with the corners.

Hair nets and helmets will be provided for safety and hygiene, but you’ll have to wear your own covered shoes to ride the karts. Participants also have to be at least 1.4m tall in order to play.

New kid-friendly track with electric karts

That being said, it’s not just adults that get to enjoy all the fun. This edition of the pop-up features an additional kids’ track, with KidRacer electric karts for the little ones.

Parents can rest assured that unlike the fast karts for the adults, these kids’ carts have speed limits capped to a safe 8km/h. There’ll also be a safety belt and safety barriers to cushion any bumps along the edges of the track.

Still, note that your little one has to be accompanied by another driver if they’re under 100cm tall.

space themed go-karting

Many of us used to flock to places like Batam or JB for go-karting but if you’re looking for something fun closer to home, try this pop-up circuit on Sentosa instead. On top of its unique underground venue, the track is also decked with space-themed decor that’ll make the kids feel over the moon.

Getting there: From Vivo City, walk or take the Sentosa Express monorail to RWS Station. Head down to RWS East Carpark (Orange Zone).
