With flashing lights and a colourful palette, the Skytropolis Indoor Theme Park looks like a carnival straight out of our childhood dreams, and kiddos today are sure to love it too. There are over 20 rides to try, including classic go-tos like roller coaster rides, carousels, and Ferris wheels. They’re all indoors too, so you won’t need to set aside wet weather plans.

The park operates on a pay-per-ride basis, so those with little ones too young to try many rides won’t need to worry about making their money’s worth. If you just want to explore the area or snap shots for the ‘Gram, you can do so for free as well. Meanwhile, those planning to conquer every ride can opt to purchase an unlimited ride pass at just RM62 (~S$19.59)/pax.

2. Have some old-school fun at BigTop Video Game Park

Times may have changed, but the BigTop Video Game Park will take you on a nostalgic trip back to the past – and this time, you can show your young’uns the games you used to enjoy when you were younger. This old-school arcade and carnival concept park has over 150 games to choose from, including Ultraman, Jurassic Park, and Transformers games.

3. Explore the newly opened Genting SkyWorlds Theme Park

The 6-year-long wait is over – we can finally visit the newly reopened Genting Skyworlds Theme Park. The anticipation alone is enough of a reason to pay the park a visit, but with 9 different themed worlds and a wide variety of rides suitable for all ages, the whole family will be in for a full day of fun.

Popular family rides include Rio Carnival Chaos – a spin on the classic teacup ride, and Epic Voyage to Moonhaven, a boat ride with special effects and animatronics. 4. Get a birds’ eye view of Genting from the Awana Skyway cable car

If you want to easily get from the bustling theme park section of Genting Highlands down to the Awana area with attractions like the Genting Premium Outlets, the Awana Skyway cable car is the perfect mode of transportation. 

Little ones are sure to be enthralled by the bird’s-eye view of the mountain, especially with the gondola’s transparent flooring. Plus, it totally makes for a cute family photo-op, over 600m above ground.

If you’re on the hunt for a good bargain, the Genting Highlands Premium Outlets will satisfy the shopaholic in you. There are over 150 brands to explore, from designer brands like Burberry and Coach to sports shops like Adidas and Asics

You won’t need to worry about restless tots either, as there are toy shops like Hamley and Toy World which they’ll love. Plus, a ton of restaurants – ranging from cafes to dessert shops like Krispy Kreme and Baskin Robbins – are available for a mid-shopping recharge snack.

6. Explore over 300 exhibits at Ripley’s Adventureland

Housing 6 different attractions, Ripley’s Adventureland is a one-stop destination for kiddos with an insatiable hunger for knowledge. Inside, you’ll find the Ripley’s Believe It or Not! Odditorium, Jurassic Research Centre, 4D Trick Art Museum, Zombie Outbreak! apocalypse-themed escape attraction, Jungle Gym, and Eagle Landing zipline. 

The main highlight would probably be the Odditorium, which contains over 300 unique exhibits, including miniature sculptures and interactive statues. Many have been dubbed odd and shocking – a real case of needing to see it to believe it.

Kiddos can also enjoy studying fossils at the Jurassic Research Centre, snapping pics at the Trick Art Museum, and immersing themselves in an apocalyptic zombie outbreak scenario. Daredevils can even attempt the Eagle Landing zipline and zoom straight down to the Skytropolis Theme Park.

7. Have a family bowling competition at Genting Bowl

If you’re looking for something to check out after dinner time, check out Genting Bowl, which is open till 11pm. The themed bowling alley has 10 lanes and is even glow-in-the-dark, meaning it’s a prime opportunity to snap cool family photos. Plus, it’s an activity that both the young and old can partake in, so everyone can have their share of fun in this friendly competition.
