This route is ideal if you’re visiting KL first before heading to Genting. Getting to KL is pretty simple, with affordable land and air transport options. For instance, a bus there only costs $30/pax via Transtar Travel, while flight prices go as low as $62/pax via AirAsia

When you’re ready to leave for Genting, the journey from KL Sentral will only take about an hour. It may seem like a more arduous journey than taking a direct coach, but it’s still relatively convenient and is quite affordable at RM14 (~S$4.41)

Cable car

There’s also a cable car ride to First World Hotel when you alight the bus at Awana Skyway, so we really aren’t complaining.  Simply purchase a ticket at KL Sentral (RM5, ~S$1.58) for the Express Bus to Awana Station. You can also directly purchase cable car tickets once you reach Awana Station.

From there, it’s cable car time. Board the Awana Skyway Cable Car to the Final SkyAvenue Station at Genting Highlands, and you’ll arrive at the main casino and hotel cluster.

Safe Travel

With Covid still in the mix, there are a few things to take note of before you kickstart your journey:

  • Fully vaccinated tourists don’t need to quarantine or take pre-departure and on-arrival Covid tests.
  • Those who are partially vaccinated or unvaccinated require pre-departure and on-arrival testing, and those above 18 need a 5-day quarantine.

You’ll also need to settle some simple logistics prior to your holiday, but thankfully, there isn’t a ton of paperwork:

  • First, download the MySejahtera application.
  • Complete the pre-departure form on the app.
  • Finally, verify your vaccination certificate and you’ll be good to go.
