How to get from Singapore to Genting Highlands
With Singapore’s year-round sweltering summer, it’s a good thing that Genting Highlands is located just a couple hours away to give us a pseudo-wintertime experience. Home to many attractions, the resort-like city has activities to entertain both the young and old, whether your idea of a thrilling time is visiting a casino or riding a rollercoaster.
Now that it’s easy to travel over to Malaysia once again, it’s finally time for us to plan our return. So if you’re planning your next getaway to the resort city, here’s how to get from Singapore to Genting Highlands.
By coach from Singapore
If you prioritise convenience, travelling by coach is probably the best option for you. The direct bus services will take you straight from Singapore to Genting in approximately 7 hours – without the hassle of lugging your baggage around and dealing with transportation transfers.
Those feeling a little boujee can even opt to ride on luxury buses, which have snug interiors and high-end amenities for a comfy ride. Meanwhile, a ton of affordable options are also available with prices beginning at just $40/pax. Read on for a list of popular options you can consider.
1. KKKL Travel & Tours

If you want a comfy journey without breaking the bank, KKKL Travel & Tours’ coaches start at just $75/pax for a roundtrip to Genting Highlands.
The coaches are equipped with “super VIP seats” that are spacious and provide sufficient leg room – 2 important features for a cramp-free journey, especially considering the long 7-hour ride. USB charging ports are available at each seat, so your device always have enough juice during a K-drama binge on your journey.

2. WTS Travel & Tours

WTS Travel has buses to Genting that run from 5.30am-6am in the morning and from 9pm-9.45pm at night, so you can book your time slots based on whether you’re an early bird or night owl. Their SVIP coaches also come equipped with TV sets and on-demand shows – you won’t need to worry about keeping yourself entertained on the long journey.
If you’re planning to stay a couple of nights, there are also several tour packages to choose from, such as 2-night stays at different hotels in Genting. Resorts World Genting members are entitled to a promo package beginning at only $79, while non-members can still choose from other affordable packages starting at $149 for a twin room.

3. Ridewell Travel

Ridewell Travel is relatively new in Singapore, having only launched its service to Genting Highlands in May 2022. They have multiple pick-up points in Singapore, making it convenient for travellers to hop onboard, no matter where they stay.
Plus, they are one of the few transport providers with various drop-off options, including First World bus terminal, First World hotel, or even Sky Avenue.
If you’re looking for something a little more elaborate, say for a party or huge family event, it’s possible to rent out entire buses for a private coach experience. You’ll be able to select different buses based on your group size.

4. 707-Inc

707-Inc offers one of the cheapest packages for Genting Members, with prices starting at just $78. The package includes a 2-night stay at First World Hotel and a roundtrip coach ride.
If you’re interested in exploring other cities in Malaysia, the agency also offers free-and-easy tour packages. One of the packages includes a pit stop at Malacca while en route to Genting, so you’ll get to make the most of your short holiday and tour different parts of Malaysia.

By express bus & cable car from KL Sentral

This route is ideal if you’re visiting KL first before heading to Genting. Getting to KL is pretty simple, with affordable land and air transport options. For instance, a bus there only costs $35/pax via Transtar Travel, while flight prices go as low as $69/pax via AirAsia.
When you’re ready to leave for Genting, the journey from KL Sentral will take about 1.5hour. The Express Bus will bring you straight to Awana Skyway. From there, there’s also a cable car ride to the Final SkyAvenue Station at Genting Highlands, so we really aren’t complaining.

It may seem like a more arduous journey than taking a direct coach, but it’s still relatively convenient and affordable. Simply purchase a ticket at KL Sentral (RM11.90, ~S$3.46), which covers the Express Bus ride to Awana Station, as well as the cable car ride.
