How to get to & around Genting Highlands
There are 2 main ways to get directly to Genting from Singapore – either take a shared coach or drive up in your car.
Driving up to Genting will be right up your alley for those confident in your driving skills. The journey is similar to driving to KL and then going about an hour further up the mountains. The total ride will roughly be 5.5 hours long and you can switch between friends or family members who can drive if you get tired.

As for taking a coach to Genting, the journey is approximately 7 hours long. While the routes of the bus and car are similar, taking a coach up means you have to wait for other passengers to get through immigration and you’ll be spending a fixed time at rest stops along the way.
Despite that, it is still a popular way to travel to Genting as you don’t have to worry about your luggage and you have an experienced driver to get you up there. For those considering travelling by coach, we have a Singapore to Genting Highlands bus guide.

Finally, you could also fly into KL with an hour’s flight and then book a Grab or rent a car to Genting Highlands.
Once you’re at Genting Highlands your main mode of transport would be by cable car which can directly take you to different spots on the mountain that cost RM16 for round trips.
-Day 1-
To make full use of your stay there, plan to take an early morning bus to Genting Highlands. That way, by the time you arrive, you’ll be just in time to check into your hotel rooms which allows you to leave behind your belongings and wander around more freely.
