GBTB’s SG60 Celebrations – Free Concert, NDP Screening & Firefly-Inspired Light Installation

GBTB SG60 celebrations

In case the increasing flurry of SG60-related promotions and deals hasn’t clued you in, we’ve got a little over a month before Singapore hits the big 60. As such, many attractions like the parks over at Mandai Wildlife Reserve are commemorating the occasion with celebrations of their own, and of course our beloved Gardens by the Bay has to get in on the act.

They’ve got a total of 4 events to put on your calendars if you’re looking for the perfect spot to enjoy the National Day festivities with the fam. Here’s what the gardens have lined up for visitors come August.

SPARK

Mesmerising light installation inspired by fireflies & stars

Even though i Light Singapore 2025 has come and gone, another dazzling exhibit to fill out your phone gallery with is SPARK. Happening from 31st July to 3rd August 2025, it’s a free installation that’ll bathe the Supertree Grove Lawn in a sea of lights, turning it into a sight to behold.

The light installation is the mesmerising brainchild of Dutch Artist Dan Roosegaarde, and is a reimagination of fireworks, a nod to the ones that’ll be lighting up the sky above the Padang on the big day itself. SPARK is also inspired by fireflies and stars; evident by the thousands of biodegradable light sparks flittering in the air.

Admission: Free
Date: 31st Jul-3rd Aug 2025
Time: 31st Jul-2nd Aug – 8pm-10pm | 3rd Aug – 9pm-10.30pm

Orchid Extravaganza 2025

Orchid-themed wonderland at Flower Dome

There’s no type of flower more synonymous with the Little Red Dot than orchids, and we’ve got a certain Vanda Miss Joaquim to thank for that. The Flower Dome concurs, and it’ll play host to the Orchid Extravaganza floral display throughout August.

Done in collaboration with MediaCorp, this year’s concert theme is “Ties that Bloom”, which celebrates the sense of belonging and camaraderie we share with our fellow countrymen, friends, and family.

By the way, the concert lineup is pretty stacked from the looks of it. Expect performances by some of Singapore’s most iconic artistes, such as Kit Chan, Taufik Batistah, Hady Mirza, and Charlie Lim.
