Even if you’re not headed to the various parks in Mandai Wildlife Reserve for a date at the zoo, there’s a quiet spot nearby where you can catch a glimpse of the native fauna. The Mandai Boardwalk is just a few minutes’ walk away from either Mandai Wildlife EAST or River Wonders, and it’s a 3.3km-long scenic boardwalk to spend a lovely morning stroll at.
There are multiple rest stops and lookout points along the boardwalk themed after the types of animals you can see in the area, so you’ve got the option to take it slow to soak in the views together. For some friendly competition, see who can spot the most critters; ones to keep an eye out for include the White-bellied sea eagle, Sunda colugo, and Oriental whip snake.
The entire boardwalk takes about 70-85 minutes to complete, and do head down in the morning, as a saunter here in the sweltering afternoon heat is not it. Do note that the Mandai Boardwalk is closed at 7pm, and we recommend starting at the Mandai Wildlife EAST entrance and exiting at River Wonders, so you can pick up a well-deserved drink at the park’s Starbucks.

If you’ve already visited Universal Studios Singapore a go for the umpteenth time, consider swapping your roller coaster rides for a trip to Sentosa Sensoryscape. Opened in 2024, it’s a multisensory garden where folks can frolic amongst manicured plant displays or simply take in the views of the various light installations.
Over at the Tactile Trellis, you’re invited to touch the plants to feel their various textures in case holding hands just ain’t enough. Meanwhile, the Scented Sphere is dotted with fragrant flora to tantalise your nose. Once dusk falls, the entire area becomes every bit more romantic as the installations here light up in hues of every colour.
The floor below the Lookout Loop will be enveloped in a layer of dreamy mist, while the Glow Garden is almost fairytale-like, as you close out the night with the arching flower stalks overhead that illuminate the night.

Just across the waters of Sentosa lies Keppel Coastal Trail; this one’s just the thing for couples who’d like to stretch their legs, but prefer not to embark on a hike that stretches on for kilometres. In fact, this elevated boardwalk is only 340m-long, so you needn’t pack too much for this short but sweet date activity; heck, it’s even ideal for spontaneous picnics.

You’ll want to get your camera out for the unblocked views of the ocean, ships bobbing across the water’s surface, and even Singapore’s offshore islands like Pulau Bukom. Of course, there’s plenty of wildlife to capture within your viewfinder too; in particular, cross your fingers and you might catch rare, migratory birds like the Yellow-rumped Flycatcher.

For those who want to prolong their dates after feasting and shopping at The Woodleigh Mall, look no further than Bidadari Park. It’s located just a sheltered, 5-minute walk from the mall, it’s a well-needed pocket of green nestled within the heartlands of Singapore.
For starters, make a stop at the park’s Alkaff Lake. Not only has it done a splendid job of recreating the scene at the former Alkaff Lake Gardens, it also acts as a stormwater retention pond to protect the nearby estates from floods. Spend a moment to take in its serenity; it serves as the pretty backdrop for a HTHT too.
Further in, there are bird-watching spots where you can take a seat and try to spot the fleeting, migratory birds that the area is known for. The park also sports Singapore’s one and only raptor nest platform, which serves as a nesting site for birds of prey.
Nearby, little ones can run wild at the Adventure Playwoods playground, which is equipped with slides, climbing nets, and even a mini zipline.

In the West, the recently redeveloped Chinese and Japanese Gardens are both great locations for a day out in the sun. Like their names suggest, you’ll find a slew of structures and installations inspired by China and Japan scattered all around the green, so if you two are planning a grand trip to those countries, practice your couple poses here first.
You simply can’t miss the Chinese Gardens, which include the majestic Cloud Pagoda that bears a striking resemblance to the Linggu Temple Pagoda in Nanjing. Don’t leave without a stroll in the Bonsai Garden, which is meant to be a recreation of a distinguished Chinese courtyard, and board the Stone Boat for an intimate moment atop a sea of lily pads.
The Japanese Gardens are equally as stunning. The Sunken Garden proves to be a hotspot for IG–worthy snaps with its unique, valley-like architecture; it even lights up beautifully at night. The gardens’ Water Lily Pavilion is the largest of its kind in Singapore, housing over 150 water lily species, and the Breathing Garden is where you can view terrariums and paludariums within its air-conditioned premises.

On the other hand, Easties can simply head to the new Tampines Boulevard Park. It’s the go-to family-friendly spot for those living in the vicinity ever since it fully opened in February 2025. Whether you’re a DINK couple or a family with little ones to satisfy, just swing by for a visit and you’ll see why.
Starting with its East section, there’s 1,200 sqm of fenced area dedicated to pets for you to unleash your furkids to roam about, as well as a nature playgarden where kids can balance on logs and skip on tree stumps.

On the West end of the park, the sand play area is another fun hangout for the kids to explore, and it’s also a tribute to Tampines’ old sand quarries. Meanwhile, the elevated garden is where you’ll find all sorts of fauna and flora, including the Pink Mempat. It’s a native, flowering tree whose blooms resemble those of cherry blossoms – just the thing for those wanting to recreate heart-pounding scenes ripped straight from a romance anime.

For something different, trade in your usual mall dates for a visit to the Hyundai Motor Group Innovation Center Singapore (HMGICS) in Jurong. They’ve got free tours that absolutely anyone can sign up for.
Called the Hyundai Discovery Tour, visitors get to view the HMGICS’ state-of-the-art facilities up close, such as their vertical smart farms. You even get to pilot one of the robot arms to plant seeds of your own, and you can even harvest a couple of greens yourself to see if your future BTO’s garden has a shot at blooming.

Another highlight of the tour that is sure to please motorheads is the thrilling Skytrack Experience. Strap in for a joyride in one of Hyundai’s latest range of vehicles around HMGSICS’ 620m-long rooftop driving track. Certain parts of the track are even angled as much as 36.8° and the cars here zoom up to 83km/h, so there’s no shame in screaming your lungs out, even for the dudes.

Gym dates aren’t exactly revolutionary, but paying for 2 gym memberships or entry passes at once can get costly. Enter Omnigym; they’re a Finnish company that specialises in building outdoor gyms with adjustable weight profiles so users can clock in a legit workout. They’ve just installed their very first set of equipment at Sea Shell Park, a park found at Pasir Ris Drive 4.
Of course, all these are free to use for all, and some of the exercises you can perform here include lat pulldowns, squats, bench press and bicep curls. Their machines are not to be scoffed at, as some of them have resistance profiles of up to 100kg, but that’s nothing when you’re imbued with the power of love, so go on and crush your PRs together.

You can’t go wrong with a sweet museum date, so it’ll definitely please you to know that admission to the National Museum of Singapore is FOC for Singapore Citizens and Permanent Residents. Even if they don’t have any ongoing seasonal exhibitions, they’ve got permanent ones to look forward to on your visit.
The Singapore Odyssea: A Journey Through Time is one of them, and is equal parts visually stunning and educational. You’ll be brought on a time-travelling expedition to learn more about Singapore’s rich history through various zones, from our nation’s colonial past to the formation of today’s landmarks like GBTB and Marina Bay Sands.
Some of the more eye-catching displays you’ll want to whip out your camera for include the digital waterfall that ripples beneath your feet, and the Glass Rotunda that lights up with flashes of Singapore’s trade routes, past and present.

Rather than picnicking in the gardens, try something fresh, unique, and romantic. Turn your car trunk into a mini fort by bringing your favourite pillows, blankets, and some fairy lights for the ambience. A picnic isn’t complete without snacks – so pack a few sandwiches, potato chips, and beverages. Voilà, you’ve got the perfect car picnic set up.

Pro tip: Park your car at Palawan Beach carpark with the car boot facing the sea for sick views while enjoying your picnic. After your meal, stroll along the rope bridge to the “Southernmost Point of Continental Asia” and climb up the watchtower that looks out to the surrounding views of Palawan Beach on one side and the South China Sea on the other.

There are various spots around Singapore Botanic Gardens for your sibei cute set-up – we’d recommend the Pavilion Garden, Symphony Lake, or Gallop Extension. Bring an ice pack and portable fans to stay cool so you don’t melt in Singapore’s heat.

If you prefer a more DIY art jamming session, bring your own ‘studio’ to Marina One and get painting with your bae. Pack paintbrushes, paint, and canvas – and there you have it, a portable studio ready to go.
