FairPrice Finest’s new outlet in Clarke Quay


You thought Clarke Quay was the go-to for a night out in the bars and clubs. You’re not wrong, but now you’ve got an excuse to visit during the day too. A new FairPrice Finest at Clarke Quay has just opened which means you can now shop for groceries while in the ‘hood.

That’s not all though; the outlet has a super chio warehouse-inspired design as well as a cocktail bar and food hall.

The neighbourhood FairPrice supermarkets that are more commonly found provide daily essentials such as groceries and household items. If you see a FairPrice Finest, it means you’ll find a deli section as well as a larger variety of organic products. 

FairPrice Xtra is the one you want to go to for extra items like electronics and clothes, offered at affordable prices. There are also a few 24-hour FairPrice Xpress outlets which are usually much smaller and offer the basic necessities at any time of the day.

The 14,000sqft outlet isn’t your usual supermarket. Firstly, there is a huge section spotlighting produce grown by local farmers as well as products from other Singapore brands.

Homegrown nuts brand Tong Garden has a cute kiosk set up where you can pick your own nuts and dried fruits. Take your customised mix worth $1 home in a packaging resembling the old newspapers that vendors used in the past to hold such snacks.

Local artist, Kelly Ser, also has a booth showcasing her exclusive collection of merch inspired by Clarke Quay. These include tote bags ($9.90), tumblers ($6.90), and magnets ($7.20) that make the prettiest souvenirs for anyone visiting Singapore.

Having made your way through the aisles of FairPrice Finest Clarke Quay, it’s time to grab a seat in The Grocer Food Hall. Here, 5 dining concepts serve light bites and proper meals. These are:

    • Mezzi: Lebanese food such as kebabs, falafel, and hummus
    • LPB Market & Bistro: Specialised cheese shop with premium burrata smoked on the spot
    • Straits Flavour: Local delights like chicken curry and soon kueh
    • A Tavola Pasta and Pane: Savoury crepes, pasta, and tiramisu
    • ShinShima: Seafood set and a la carte Japanese grills like teriyaki chicken

Those who want the live cooking experience can pick their meat cuts and seafood from the shelves and get them cooked on the spot. Up to 300g will cost $12 and every additional 100g will be an extra $4.

Not only can you purchase liquor from the FairPrice Finest but you get to have a drink on the spot at The Grocer Bar. The in-store bar serves 11 cocktails with a local twist – all at $15/glass. Some familiar flavours you can look forward to are ondeh ondeh, pandan, and milo.

Beer drinkers can quench their thirst with glasses from $7.90. If you intend to spend happy hour at the bar, by all means; there are jugs for $28 and towers from $49.90 ensuring a fun night out in Clarke Quay.
