What you need to know about ESCAPE Johor Bahru
Those familiar with the indoor playground scene would have heard of ESCAPE – a well- known theme park brand in Malaysia. Other than in JB, they have a few other branches, like ESCAPE Penang and ESCAPE Petalling Jaya.
The one in Johor Bahru is found within the atrium of Paradigm Mall, giving it all of the height that 5 storeys affords. Like the Airzone at City Square Mall in Singapore, you’ll be looked upon by shoppers walking around the various levels of the mall.
For a fuss-free entrance, the park uses a facial recognition ticketing system, so you’ll have to register your face before your visit. Don’t worry, the process is not that complicated. Just upload a selfie through the registration link that’ll be sent to your email upon booking.

With such a big set-up, it’s natural to feel concerned as parents. Not to worry, there’s plenty of safety protocols in place to ensure a safe adventure for all. Even before you step out, the instructors will ensure that everyone gets a harness suitable for their height and weight. For every 2 stations, there are around 5-6 instructors on standby to guide you and your kiddo through the process.
As for the dress code, closed toe shoes are a must. And while not compulsory, it’s also a good idea for your kiddo to wear long pants too to minimise abrasions or rope burns.
What activities are there at ESCAPE Johor Bahru?
In total, there are 10 different stations spread across the 5-storey indoor playground, some of which have height and weight restrictions.
Acrobatics jump

There’s a safety net below too, just in case.

It’s not every day that you get the chance to try your hand at cool circus tricks, which you can do at the acrobatics jump. Take a leap of faith from the starting platform before linking arms with the staff mid-air, as they swing you over to the other side of the platform. Feel free to perform as many backlips as you wish in between.

The smaller kiddos won’t have to miss out on the fun either, thanks to the mini acrobatics section. They won’t be doing any flying trapeze stunts, but they can safely swing back and forth on the trapeze bar or bounce to their hearts’ content on the trampoline.
Free-fall jump

Whether you want to mentally psych yourself up to do a bungee jump someday, or just need a quick adrenaline rush, the free-fall jump is just for you. It’s a thrilling 2-storey free-fall jump down to level 2 of the mall – where the next section starts.
High elements

Navigate your way through high elements – a series of adventure tracks and obstacles slung across level 2. You’ll have to cross the sky ladder bridge, then keep your balance on the turtle-shaped steps, which are way wobblier than they look.

Younger daredevils can take on a more kid-friendly version located back on the 4th floor. It features mini flying foxes and obstacles that are just a few metres off the ground, keeping things pretty safe.
Zip swings

Zip lines are always a hit, but the zip swings literally put a different spin on things with its many twists and turns. As you zoom through the floors of the mall, you might even feel like you’re in a suspended rollercoaster, or swinging through the jungle.
Trampoline launcher
Just when you thought things couldn’t get any more exciting, the trampoline launcher cranks things up a notch by launching you skyward like a rocket. Think of it as a more toned-down, kid-friendly version of our Slingshot Singapore.

Over at the trampoline jump you can literally jump as high as you want without worrying about flying off, since you’re strapped into a harness that’ll hold you in the middle of the trampoline.
Slide

Brace yourself as you shoot down the slide, which stands at around 3 storeys tall. Add in the steep banana-shaped curve of the slide, and you’ve got a thrilling ride down onto the safety net below.
Tree climb

Put your climbing skills to the test over at the tree climb station, which has plenty of foot and handholds for you to latch onto and scale your way to the top. Since there are 2 of these “trees”, feel free to spice things up with your friend and see who can climb to the top first.
